After Peter Miller form today and of recent times, you may not hear much more from him!

Lost his job for unmentionables on the Ace Radio Board Room table and then proceeded to give the empire a spray at 1/2 time speech of the game today before he was forcibly removed from the premises.

Be interested to see if John Smith and his band of merry puppets intervene in this dispute!

Very poor form from Peter yesterday. Whenever you are an invited guest always remain diplomatic and polite. Peter could heed that advice.

I believe this will be the beginning of the end for Diggers, they are a rabble and a rudderless ship that not even refugees would jump on.

Lift your game Peter!

The Saints over Warrack today. Leaves the finals race wide open. And the Saints play Horsham next up who will win that game?

Congratulations to the Horsham United Football Club on scoring a goal in the reserves!

On another note, very disappointing that the Ararat reserves side forfeited yesterday playing at home.

Stronger sides such as Horsham and Kalkee have also had trouble finding players to fill the last few spots in their reserves sides at different times this year. What is the answer? A review by the VCFL similar that in the southwest?

Is that right PP a forfeit by Ararat reserves? What would be the last forfeit at reserves level in the league?
United have been labeled a rable of late but maybe we should be concerned with the Rats. Something is seriously wrong with their setup if their juniors can win flag after flag and then they can't even field a reserves side at home. You're right PP plenty of clubs struggle to fill the last few spots but a couple of good juniors or a few oldtimers and they get a side on the park.

Last forfeit would have been Ararat reserves at Nhill in 2009.

Deano Lawson, has an interesting piece in this weeks Advertiser.

"Somebody's gotta do something", when refering to the state of Football in our area he says. Full credit to the Horsham Demons for the unprecedented record they have amassed over the last 9 years but by crickey is has been slowly sucking the life out of football in the region. Gate numbers are down where "only players, officals or family of competitors" are attending, as people are sick of watching the 30 goal thrasings that teams have been copping.
Why can't the VCFL conduct a review of the future of football in the our next of the woods? The numbers just aren't there to prop up the 38 Senior (and reserve) teams in the Wimmera & District Leagues. No small town wants to see their football teams merge or vanish completely but what does the future hold for teams like Pimpinio, Natimuk and Horsham United where 100 - 150 point losses seem the norm these days.

Maybe United should be in talks with Natimuk and bring "Natimuk United" into the Wimmera. Good facilities out there, and centrally located to be in the Wimmera League. They couldnt be any worse than the current United sides...

Maybe Dean Lawson could take heed of his own words. He has been given stories on VCFL conduct in their failure to adhere to their own rules and their treatment of affiliate clubs and chose to do nothing because of his own parochialism. As journalist tend to do they love to point the finger but never stand up to be accountable for their own behavior!!

People have many more choices these days than to just go to football. Shopping is even an opposition that was not present 30 years ago. With that comes junior staff which takes participants away.

Reducing the number of clubs is not necessarily the answer as it reduces the number of available spots for juniors. Footy needs more juniors and the need for less adults. How that is done becomes the puzzle.

PP I would also ask is a 30 goal thrashing the fault of the winning team or the losing team? If you want to make football stronger it is not achieved by bringing down the strong but by strengthening the weak.

Agree Arch, It has been up to teams to step up and match Horsham but the Demons have been by far the fittest and strongest club over the stretch. As an outsider l take my hat off to the bastards who put it as much work in December & January as they do in July & August. But it does start with the juniors and both the Horsham Saints and the Demons have outstanding Auskick & Junior football programs.

I'd love to hear more on this Friday night football Saints have started. By all reports it is the right tonic. Creating more football for juniors to participate and giving them convenience of a different time slot. Sounds brilliant.

This is the innovation clubs need to be looking at rather than looking at ways of diminishing the strong

If for no other reason, the demise of Peter Miller must be a good thing, as Fancy seems to have gone very quiet. For what ever reason!!!!

You will end up in court Slenko telling lies like that. Nobody was forcibly removed from the premises. Peter Miller just stated a couple of facts about football in the area. Namely that the Empires active recruitment of children from other clubs is bad for football.

Peter Miller will soon be working for a rival media outlet and the juvenile innuendo coming from the Empire is pathetic.

The Empires reference to the commission members being puppets and pigs is disgraceful. Bushy, Mc Clean, Harradine are living legends.

If that is the truth about Millers comments in the Horsham Club rooms, well good on him. It is well known that Horsham actively try to recruit talented juniors from other clubs and that is bad for football.

Peter Miller did not publicly talk about how Horsham actively recruited talented juniors, he just said that he hoped Horsham did not win the Premiership this year and that Horsham was ruining the league. He also thought that Horsham must be sick of winning!

Neither is it a well known fact that Horsham try to recruit talented juniors from other clubs.

Whilst many allegations have been made, near all have been disproven. Eg 2 juniors from Dimboola this year actually quit Dimboola Football Club and then eventually ended up at Demons without any approach what so ever!!! Yet accusation flew left right and centre.

You have no credibility left at all.

David Johns in his column in the Wimmera Mail Times not only stated the Horsham recruit juniors from other clubs he also stated that other clubs should be professional enough to do the same thing.

Peter Miller is true and correct.....Horsham are ruining the junior league and junior football in general.

The Moose is right, the Horsham Demons are not the only club to be doing this now. Other Horsham clubs have no other choice if they are to survive.

The Horsham Football Club have won many premierships but they have also done great damage to country football in our area.

So can you tell us what exactly is the response to this from the Horsham Demons? They are upset.....why????

So if that is all he said why are Horsham officials saying he was forcibly removed from the building!!!!

I agree with most of what you have said. As I have said many times it’s been the Horsham’s player’s hard work that has been a key to their success. As I have also said, many of the best players of the last ten years at Horsham also had fathers play for the club or have other close links.

Unfortunately for you, you have chosen to engage in a forum where many of your peers have chosen to belittle other clubs and the people who run them. Nobody likes an arrogant winner and the behaviour of many here has been appalling.

The fact that many of us have rebutted the poisonous narrative should be no surprise to you. Calling it whinging is a little silly and again the constant whining about league officials is stupid.

The league has due process...people are nominated and elected. The board can change the Chief Commissioner if they see fit. The clubs can dissolve the commission any time they like. This constant stuff from Horsham about the commissioners being puppets etc is just childish and offensive to those on the commission.

If you want to point out the good people at Horsham that’s fine but why not leave the other nonsense out of it?

;)

Spoke to Demons officials tonight and their side of the story is these 3 Dimboola kids quit the club due to the fact they hated the club. They then approached Horsham Demons to play there. This is a far cry from your story and no doubt the truth lies some where in between. They also claim they even rang Dimboola officials to advise these kids had approched them to play and they expressed no concern. I would put it to you have you fabricated the truth even a little to convey an emotion far from the truth.

If that is even near correct its a bloody joke, no that should be you and if you have kids it's setting a shocking example.

The rape of Dimboola is a disgrace.
