After a slow start at the club he looks to have really found his place behind the ball and looks very comfortable at the highest level.

Wasn't concerned that he'd be looking elsewhere after breaking through but it's nice to have it done regardless.

It’s a shame Philpy hasn’t got a clear run at it but that was some impressive trading. Everyone wanted Kempy that year.

Kemp looks very comfortable at the level. He also has that x-factor athleticism which allows him to do things that the majority of players can't.

Philp has pace and some tools, but unless we are very sure his injuries will not be long term, IMO he doesn't have enough upside to potentially clogging our list marchbank style.

If nothing else, Kemp is real and tangible proof that our VFL and strength/conditioning program actually is working, and we are now actually developing and nurturing young players correctly. This is why I also understand why the club is playing the patient path with Carroll and Binns too.
