SNOOPS ANNUAL MOCK DRAFT
Have just done a re-edit to line up with the final draft selections. Major changes just revolve around testing which in a few of their cases makes a fair bit of difference I think.
May make another couple of changes as really still cant get comfortable with the list of Key talls after Patton, Longer and Tomlinson. The order of them from then on is really difficult.
Equally there are players like Sam Gordon, Danny Butcher, Will Farrer, Ross Tungatalum, Cameron Shenton, Rhys Waters, Matt Jacquier, Alex Brown, Jack Frost, Courtney Hylton, Jordan Kelly, Brayden O’Hara, Jake Hammond who any given time I look at it I have back in or out.
I have tended to stear clear of mature age players in the national draft and think that a few more will go in the Rookie but look guys like Mirra, Sundberg, Dwyer, Batsanis, Lynch, Baguley, Duscher, Frost, Wheeler etc could all very well go in the National Draft but more interesting to talk about the kids for mine.
Anyway here it is;
GWS Zone Selections
Harry Cunningham – This kid has a massive amount of x factor and is a genuine wingmen / midfielder. Extremely quick and has terrific hands in close and then can finish nicely. Did some nice things through the Champs.
David Coward – Hard running midfielder who has good pace and probably plays more an inside sort of role. On the smaller side but has ball winning ability and he also has pace and reasonable skills. I would have had him down as a possible rookie.
James Bruest – Probably didn’t feature at champs as much as I hoped for but gee he did some good things when he had it. Seen a bit of him but the game vs Metro was a ripper. Can play the lad and suited to a medium fwd role.
Louis Eggar – HB flanker from NT who I would have had around the 60 mark in the Draft. Think of a young Byron Pickett and you are about right. Runs hard and uses it well but its his work in and around the contest that shines
Gibson Turner – Small fwd from NT who is a terrific type and reminds very much of a young Leon Davis. Good 1:1 and even better when the ball hits the ground. Another who I would have as a mid range pick in the draft.
Kevin Williams – Giants have been keen on him for a while and he played well in a couple of games at BO through the year. Tall HB flank type who is really agile but waifer thin.
