What pick is he expected to go?
Best small forward this draft?
Looks ok, how much of that was just his size compared to other 17yo kids though, I’m always wary of man child types playing under 18s, will it translate at AFL level. At this stage:
Josh Smilie is considered top be in Top 5 contention, potentially Top 2. For mine he is a bit of a barometer for where this draft group is at; I think in another year he would be more a pick 8 - 15. His point of difference from others at the top end is his size as a midfielder (194cm). It is interesting to compare the video from last year to this year in the same competition; I think he looks a bit more mobile than last but I still think it is a bit of a weakness. His kicking is also better I think but still think it is a bit in the average category.
For mine best traditional small forward is Isaac Kako; kicks a lot of goals and creates a lot of opportunities (more so than the others in that category).
Watched the beginning of Kako's 7 goal game. Somewhere in the second quarter scoreline was 77 points to 1.At this stage:

Do you have any info on Ricky Mentha? At this stage:

NT small forward / mid playing for Gippsland Power and is a Melbourne academy player. Hasn't had too much impact scoreboard wise yet but kicked a few last year (about a goal a game), decent tackling numbers also.Do you have any info on Ricky Mentha?
A specialist forward, I think we have done better with Balla and Walters.
Players who have midfield craft but are too small for permanent mids.
Tracking a potential draft bolter from WA. Luke Urquhart is a 190cm mid/forward with an exciting skill set. Ability to find the footy inside and outside the contest, tough tackling and serious hurt factor with his possessions. A long penetrating kick from a lovely fluid action which allows him to set up teammates and hit the scoreboard.
He kicked the first from midfield, then was swung forward in the last quarter with East Freo chasing the game. So all those touches you see in Q4 were as a forward, albeit he roams around quite a bit and pushes up the ground. Is he kicking his goals as a midfielder, or does he genuinely play forward?
Great to see you back on board this year! Love your work mate. Freo desperately needs some forwards this year, anyone catching your eye so far?He kicked the first from midfield, then was swung forward in the last quarter with East Freo chasing the game. I imagine you mean small forwards given Amiss and Treacy seem like a nice duo for the future.Great to see you back on board this year! Love your work mate. Freo desperately needs some forwards this year, anyone catching your eye so far?
Any power x-factor/game winning forwards that aren't small forwards?I imagine you mean small forwards given Amiss and Treacy seem like a nice duo for the future.
The most obvious would be Malakai Champion, which would come with the added bonus of pinching someone from the Eagles NGA. Didnt have his best game in round 1 of the Colts but he's too good not to be a big player in this draft season.
A couple of names to keep an eye on from over in the east are Joe Berry for Murray who's started the season well, and Isaac Kako from Calder who at this stage I would have as the number 1 small forward prospect.
It feels like every talented kid wants to be Dusty these days, so a lot of them are trying their hand as a forward part time.Any power x-factor/game winning forwards that aren't small forwards?

Taj Hotton is more of a forward first, mid second... so his efforts up forward are more impactful and interesting:

And plays with the most figjam mannerisms I’ve ever seen. Ill bet my house he doesn’t leave VICNow that is a player. Vic Metro though
