Their window is open with this group for at least two, perhaps three years.

They rose quicker than expected last year and have been disappointing this year. They should be up their contending next year with their talented core.

They won 12 games in 2022 for 9th
They won 13 games in 2023 for 5th
They will win 12-14 games in 2024

Not sure where this unexpected rise was?Looks pretty consistent to me, a solid team but nothing special.

They have had the same talented senior core for years now.

Mckay, Weiters and Curnow are 26-27 - Cripps, Saad, Doc, McGovern, Newman, Martin, Williams, Acres, Pittonet, Hewett are all older.

No signs of contending with that talented core, a consistent 5-10 team unless things change.

Yep if there's one thing we do well its deliver on expectation :tearsofjoy:
Their supporters had to go through a bottom up rebuild with several years of absolute putridness.
They tanked to ensure they would get the draft picks to build this core group. If they don’t deliver on at least one flag in the next three years their rebuild has been a complete failure.

Time for them to go all in, trade in any additional experienced talent required and back the coaching staff hired to deliver them their next flag.

You've obviously forgotten the age profile of last seasons premiers.

Pies won 15+ games and finished top4 in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

So yes, closer to the end of our premiership contending run then at the beginning.

Tigers had a couple of 15 wins seasons as a younger squad in 2013 and 2015, before their launch in 2017.

Will this Carlton group make the jump from a 12-13 win team to an actual top4 contending team who wins 15+ games?

Or have they already "arrived" and they just aren't at that level.

Our window has three seasons to go, maybe four, what will the Pies do? Linked with a few high profile players with no first round draft pick.

This is true.

But the key to success often falls on the ability for the clu. To be stable.
A strong president, ceo and a strong coach.

We are seeing a new prez and also a ceo come in and have no allegiance to Voss.

They have the talent to contend for a flag but if they decline this year the coach will be in the gun as the players themselves will again bay for blood as they’ve been known to do a couple of times in this rebuild already.

With the talent they have it’s really up to the coach to get them there now.

No, They do not have the talent. Contend for a flag means to be competitive in a Grand Final. They never have been close to that, they’re current list is weaker than last years.

They’re relying on perpetual improvement and every draft pick being a jet whilst their spine remains in tact.

And it continues; post from 2021
Not getting into a pantomime about Carlton.

Two biggest issues holding them back is the development in that second and third tier of players whilst the second is well advanced in its rectification; coaching.

Addressing these will go a long way to helping them move up the ladder and back into finals contention.
