What would a Dutton Liberal leadership mean for the Liberals and the country?

Even worse than the Rudd home insulation scheme? Directly resulted in 4 deaths. If the private sector managed delivery of a program like that, industrial manslaughter would be considered!!
Which the CSIRO showed to be fewer than the prevailing industry standard death rate.

Didn’t stop the anti-science Coalition from calling eight - count ‘em, eight! - enquiries into the scheme, despite not one of them finding anything of significance.

This is the problem with the world today.
Right wing people don't care about facts anymore.
It's all about convincing people to believe things that are pure propaganda.

They lost the factual argument years ago. There is now a wealth of research showing the more economically equal a society, the better it is for its citizens on every quality of life metric you care to apply.

So now they’re reduced to arguing black is white.

The thing to keep in mind though, is that the patent absurdity of their arguments now seems to prompt them to ever-more vociferous prosecution of those arguments. Embarrassment just doesn’t seem to be an issue.

It's an incredibly frustrating time to be alive.

Please..... Use your own analytical skills. The scheme cost approx $1b (not to mention the $1.5b to rectify issues), and there were 4 deaths. 1 death every $250m of construction value.

So, is we extrapolated that, to say, suburban rail loop, would it be acceptable for 128 young workers to die on that job?

Liberals now fellating Musk

Reagan ‘we’ll all unite to fight alien invaders’ moment. For a group constantly calling on labor to fix cost of living they don’t talk about it much, seems like very thing and anything else.

Edit. Reading further they could send criminals to colonise mars. If it failed who would care.

But seriously

Ley is displaying a disturbing ignorance of the nuances of European Australian history
Musks original blathering mpromised there would be a colony on mars…..by 2024

Australia Day is Peter Duttons Christmas and he is still too cowardly to even front the media. Instead he releases a video on social media.

If they went to his electorate where he was I’m sure he would have been happy to humour them .

Imagine the level of ignorance and utter hatred of Indigenous Australians it takes to compare the arrival of British colonisers in a land that had been the home of a civilisation of people for tens of thousands of years with sending a spaceship to another planet that is devoid of any life form.

This is the Deputy Leader of the Federal Opposition FFS.

Utterly contemptible.

The brave experiment was a way to get rid of the criminal classes of Britain. It wasn’t that noble, and they didn’t know of the bountiful resources either

For long enough it was r*ped of its riches by the entrepreneurs in britain

Hmm, it had a humanitarian streak too. A lot of the people pushing for the penal colony were also active in the early abolitionist movement. The gaols and prison hulks were appalling, and there was a genuine desire among some groups to literally give the convicts the benefits of sunshine and fresh air.

It was not all Unicorns and Rainbows though.

It was also about the colonial expansion of the major European nations into South East Asia and the Pacific and protecting the trade routes to their colonial out posts

The other thing it was cost efficient. Sentence a crim to 7 years, you have to have the infrastructure to slot and feed them for 7 years Chuck them on a boat with food for 6 months and you can forget about them

The Poms had lost their convict dumping ground to the American Revolution with the help of the French.

The French revolution was brewing and just underway

Like. I said the nuances of history completely lost on Susan Ley

And, there's his open invitation in black & white.

It appears what Dutton is complaining about is a merit based system favouring females at least in job entry level.

Yes young men cannot rely on the patriarchy thir grandfathers benefitted from (Dutton is that far behind the times)

They need to lift their game. And the stats are still skewed against females higher up organizations, despite this being a thing for a couple of decades at least now.

I’m pretty sure that in lower levels of organizations, where there is a fairly even balance among the genders, it’s pretty much on merit

I can see where a workforce is one gender sided, (engineering or IT) if you are an applicant of the other gender, the organization looking for the benefits of diversity might give an advantage

Also todays CEOs don’t speak up publicly enough? Has he looked at the mining lobby recently? Gina already saying we need an Australian DOGE
Didn't one paper tried to Portray Dutton at not being a monster? LoL

Absolutely, agree on all points, just wanted to illustrate that the transportation project wasn’t solely about banishing criminals to the other side of the world, and you have added further nuance.
