If he’s human he’ll be feeling the pinch just slightly with all the Allen talk.

Personally, if he comes back and can stay injury-free (and that’s a risk with Allen too), I don’t think we’ll need anyone else.
The query with Mitch has never been about his talent but whether he can stay fit for a full season. When fit he's in the top 5 power forwards in the comp.

The big question is whether Mitch has just been unlucky with his injury history or whether he has a body that unfortunately cannot stand up to the demands of AFL due to genetics (like Chads).

The next two years will answer that question either way I think.

All that said, it’s easy for we fans to sit on the sidelines and say ‘yeah, everything’s great, we’re winning at the moment, so all is well and groovy’. But a savvy, ultra-competitive operator like Sammy wouldn’t be resting on those laurels.

He’ll be relentlessly looking for any and every legal opportunity to improve our position and drag us closer to more silverware. And preferably multiple silverwares…

This post has made my day. Easily the biggest missing link for us in winning a premiership as soon as this season. Can't wait to see him back out there kicking snags and linking up with the HokBall bombs coming out of HB into our i50.

Even before he mentioned it I was thinking to myself ‘Bro is puffin’!’ Ha ha.

Great news. I can’t believe how well we are traveling with what we have missing at the minute.

Here’s to a healthy remainder of the season!

I would assume that Sammy would've addressed any of this talk with him. He's not that far removed from his playing career so would know how something like that would effect him.

You talking about Mitch or Calsher?

Can’t wait to see both out there. Fit. Firing. Formidable.

Lewis looks to be very lean, agile & quick. That's before the 8-10 week fitness base he mentioned he'll undertake.

CH: ............ LEWIS ...........
FF: CHOL... DEAR ...........

Unnamed positions don't even matter**. We're winning EVERY game we line up like that 💪

I can see Lewis, Chol & maybe Dear operating in bursts from CHF, getting up to the Wings to contest whilst one presents at CHF & the other stays/rests deep. Blow the CHB up by Half Time, then let the goals rain down in the last when we run over the top!

**just for fun...

CH: MOORE.....LEWIS......CROC
FF: CHOL........ DEAR ...... WIZ

In 2022 Mitch had his best output of 37 goals, for reference 19 players kicked more than that last year. Not is any world is Mitch Lewis a top 5 power forward.
If he had a season like that first half vs Adelaide...he's be best in the league. Was unstoppable.

But you are correct.

He only played 15 games that year for 37 goals.

That's an average of 2.5 goals a game which would give him a 50 goal a game season which would definitely put him in top 5 (as a reference Jeremey Cameron's career goal average is 2.54).

The issue isn't whether Mitch is good enough, he clearly is, it's whether he can stay fit for a while season.
