Because the lift he’ll give this group given the injury…. Given his commitment to the club… and the clubs investment in him… that reward will bring an energy.. Wardy and Wiz will get “their lick of the icecream”.Why? Watson was better. Ward was better.
Has to play this week.
People easily forget how good Wingard is.
Don't worry about selection.
If he is fit and in form, he will play.
There are always ins/outs, injuries, form slumps, fatigue etc.I agree with you but whose spot does he take, as I feel his spot has been taken by Ginni, MacDonald , Moore and Mitchell like Breust as his sub.
And on current form none of those guys are getting dropped, we also need to find a way to bring Watson in also.
They'll figure it out.Does he who’s spot does he take
Agree. Watson's time will come, but for now, Wingard has a level of class we can't ignore.I believe he should be in ahead of Watson.

Wow, has it really been 5 games already for Chad? He's played 5 games now. We either pick him, or leave him at BH if we believe he's not best 23.
He can't get there this season anyway, unless we were to make finalsIf Watson plays Box Hill again and plays as well again he really would deserve a spot. Could rest Breust til after the Bye and really give his groin time to heal - though that means he wont get to 300.

Played 288 and we have 11 left, would have been fitting to have him play 300 in Launceston against North.Ahh I thought he could if he played every game. In this case for sure he could get a couple of weeks break and have Wingard back, with Watson in the wings.
Would like to see him back. He deserves a chanceBit surprised about all the posts saying Chad should stay at Box Hill. You walk up to a long straight parr five, you pull out your one wood. (Chad is the one wood in this analogy).
If I recall correctly he was at the best he'd ever been at Hawthorn (over a sustained period) when he got injured. So we don't need him to come back improved, just pick up where he left off.I agree that Chad has earned the right to get back in the 1's and prove himself. When and who he displaces is a different discussion.
But at this stage of his career he has a mountain to climb to be more than a bit part player. Ginni, Wiz, Moore and Croc are all young and improving.
Realistically Chad has only had a middling career to date at the Hawks. It's hard to see he can come back as an improved player. Sometimes a player's absence can improve their reputation.
Having said all this i really hope he can have a late career surge. He is one of my favourites at the club. Comes across as such a humble genuine guy. And 5 mins of peak Chad can still win a final ...
Been warmer in Tassie the last few weeks than Melbourne, The Chad could enjoy coming here to warm up his old bonesTasmania is cold and the Chad's legs are older than some. You'd expect him back in a few weeks with some more Box Hill games and more form.
Plus, hard to break into a winning team. Go Hawks!
He definitely wasn't at the peak he set in 2021 when he was playing midfield and getting 30 posession games regularly. If I recall correctly he was at the best he'd ever been at Hawthorn (over a sustained period) when he got injured. So we don't need him to come back improved, just pick up where he left off.
