LOVE that Dewar and Ryan are already looking after him before he even got picked.

The fact he's related to Betts is just a bonus at this point. Really excited to watch this kid go.

I haven't really paid attention to this kid other than knowing him being an Academy player, but everything I read on here or on Instagram on Twitter is nothing but big plaudits for him..so then why were no clubs interested in drafting him? I'm confused.

Not crapping on him, just confused as to why I see universal praise for him yet having no draft interest.

I suspect because he’s small and it’s likely going to take a fair bit of development to get him to AFL level

He’d also take up a main list spot whereas we are able to place him on the Cat B list which allows us that time to develop him without using salary cap space

This being a deep draft would also have been a factor

Not sure I'd call him nuggety. He's under 70kg and looks relatively small compared to the others in that photo.

I went to the 1st preseason training day at MRP last year and saw one of the goal kicking drills , he ran out and one touched the dribbling ball and snapped in one motion without looking and banged it through the middle kid knows where the goals are ..

He’s already built relationships with some of the players and will be familiar with his surroundings
