I was very tempted to buy one of these. They still turn my head every time I see one. Beautiful looking car.
The fact that all variants of the Giulia come perfectly balanced and include a carbon fibre driveshaft is a testament to the refinement of the brand.

The handling is amazing too, I opened it up on the freeway uptrack then did a lazy loop back down. Nearly cried when I couldn't buy it then and there.

BYD just announced a stripped back version of their Dolphin hatchback to sell for just under $30k. MG will need to cut the price of the MG4 or they'll be losing market share pretty soon.

It's hard to compete with the scale of BYD on price right now. They can just keep rolling out new models at every price point cheaper than their competitors. This is a company that has taken market share off Tesla so MG have got no chance unless they've got a cheaper offering.

I picked one up a year ago. Lovely to look at and lovely to drive. The new model comes with a 5 year warranty, previously 3. Alfa’s have a reputation for being unreliable but mine’s been trouble free.

Yeah the one I was looking at was electric blue with a camel interior and bright yellow brake callipers. It was beautiful albeit slightly ostentatious. In the end I chickened out and went for the "safer" German option.

I was tempted by the electric blue but went traditional in the end with the Alfa red

I would consider buying an MG to support our sponsor, but it wouldn’t be the decisive factor.
One consideration for buying an MG was to support our sponsor, but it wasn’t the decisive factor.

For a long time my wife and I just had the one car (Nissan Qashqai) and I used my motorbike if the wife was using the car.
In 2020 I bought a new MG3 as our second car (still have a motorbike). The new MG3 was around the same price as a lot of small second hand cars. The MG3 had a 7 year warranty.
In 2022 the MG had extensive hail damage and was assessed as a write-off. I was given the choice of a new MG3 or dollar amount I paid for the first MG3. I went with the new MG3.
We live in the Adelaide Hills and my preference (car) is to drive the MG. The only thing with the MG is that I would have preferred a manual but they’re only available in auto (a turbo would be nice).

If there's no standards or regulations when it comes to electroplating, rust proofing, and overall engineering, then what are you really risking? Your EV battery cells have hundreds, if not thousands, of spot welds. If they come from a country where theres no regulation, not standards - the risk and price aren't justified. At least not for me.

Further to that - why would you support manufacturers who go to foreign countries, import their own Chinese slave labour and bring those sub standard manufacturing methods with them?

You are worried about reliability, safety & make quality and just bought an Italian car?. After owning an Alfasud ti very briefly the irony is not lost on me. These companies are multinationals, making cars in mega factories full of robots, my last Toyota was assembled in South Africa and I am a consumer who wants the best bang for buck. All these cars pictured cost 50-60k aud new in China (except for the taycan, hubby drove the 911 carrera parked in front and wasn’t happy about it) and after test driving and inspecting the make quality I couldn’t be more impressed. Like it or not they are coming. The wages quoted to me for factory workers, in the admittedly very wealthy part of China I was in, were actually quite good too. There was actually a shortage of low skilled workers & wage growth so strong that middle aged ladies were being lured back into the workforce on construction sites IMG_1101.jpeg IMG_0996.jpeg IMG_0980.jpeg IMG_1177.jpeg

remember when the MG guy was concerned that their logo wouldn't be on the front of the guernsey if we played in a GF? what a fool he was

Only one game off.
Only fools are PAFC coaches.
My brother watched the pf game at a media show. Said there was an ex Sydney assistant coach there. Who said ports coaches are dumb as shit. They were guarding the corridor & leaving the wings open & free the whole game. Same game plan that worked vs hawks.
But ex line coach said Sydney love chipping wide up the wings. It’s their go to game plan. It’s their thing. So they almost busted a nut when they saw us leave the wings open. And carved us up. Even said it was widely broadcast to drag boak deep & let him kick. And people still debate his spot?
Said the way to beat Sydney was to block the wings & force them to switch up, which they suck at, & sting them on the turnover on the short ground.
Totally off topic & wrong thread but I needed to get that off my chest

wages are okay for China. The same country where a live leak watermark means a factory workwr is going to either get crushed by a building, or bursts into flames.
