VFL - Geelong v Casey

Prior to Geelong's AFL match at 7.40pm, the VFL Cats will be in action on Friday afternoon as they hunt their third straight win to start the 2025 season.

The VFL match will commence at 3.50pm, with Geelong supporters getting the opportunity to see plenty of exciting players live and up close.

Patrons must hold a relevant ticket for the AFL match to attend the VFL, and are required to move to their allocated seats for the AFL match at the conclusion of VFL game.

Gate 13 will be open from 3:20pm for fans to enter. Patrons will be seated in the Brownlow Stand on Level 1, between bays A28 and A33 for the VFL match.

Are we likely to get any players back for this game? You’d think Mannagh, Stanley and Duncan are in contention for the afl game. Likely to be a very vfl listed heavy team.

Sounds like a ripper bloke. Shame he is just short of the level.

….

The riches of local footy can be alluring for senior VFL players, but Capiron will have to be dragged out of Kardinia Park kicking and screaming.

“When I first came here I fell in love with the place and I thought this is a place where I can really see myself evolving into someone that I’m proud of, because that hasn’t always been the case,” Capiron said.

“So I think they’re going to have to kick me out of this joint because I still feel that way at the moment, so I don’t want to give that up.

“I’m still evolving, I am not a finished product.”

…..

Mannagh is too good for the VFL... Has been for ages.

Seeya back in the AFL on the weekend bigfella.
Yes he is.. but he did fade in out of the vfl game … has es ted the call up but we can’t have another bloke not playing 4 quarters.. we got enough of them already lol
Go Catters

I think it is just rust then a general fitness issue, in a week he ran out an extra quarter.

Ever starting jogging again after a long break, the first run is hell, then you make extremely quick progress before you hit another wall.

What about Mannagh as sub if there's questions over his fitness and running out 4 quarters
I think that could work. I also think it could work to tell him to go out and make a difference in the first three quarters and then pull him off for the last.

So I think acting as sub or being replaced by the sub both seem pretty appealing options for how we use him while he's getting his overall fitness back up to speed.

Annand in is interesting unless one of our talls is making way. Maybe Stanley won't suit up?

Hoping to see some more out of Pike and Polkinghorne.

We know stevens, Wiltshire and now Retschko are talents. Need to see a bit more from the two P’s
probably need Stanley to have a week off to properly see what Pike can do. Polkinghorne is a gun as per praccy matches but needs to rise this week.

or Pike is spending more time in the ruck instead of forward (where he has been woeful so far)

I think he is more a ruck than forward ..especially these days when players have to be so dynamic. Id be happy to hardly see Pike this year…or every second game and for him to focus on off field stuff. Get himself in the best AFL nick. The issue is guys like Conway who should be playing struggle to get and stay on the ground. Hope to see more Edwards this year.
