Trump doesn't want to fight Russia, he's signalled already that Europe has to take care of itself. The US preferred arena is the ME.

I also never said he wanted to go to war, they're preparing for it and getting all their ducks in a row if the need be. I also said I didn't think it was quite yet, an inevitability.

Both those things can be true.
