My understanding is there will only be tariffs on finished goods. Any unfinished product or raw goods that are imported will be considered 'parts', which will then be required to be 'manufactured' in the US - at least this is what I've been told by people over there prepping for this.

As an Australian with a passing interest in American politics, I just find the whole thing so draining. Whether you love him or hate him, Trump just being Trump sucks out all your emotional energy. I can't even imagine what it must be like in America right now and facing the prospect of 24/7 Trump coverage for another ****ing four years.

Just have to turn it off and block it out. Good thing about these times is you can watch dedicated channels for sport etc without ever hearing the clowns talk.

Anything important happens in the world then you will hear about it anyway.

For me, today is like the final episode of Survivor. A bit sad that's it's over but look forward to the next season.

An incredibly complex country. Him winning isn’t a total surprise, but the popular vote… wow.

Many factors, but it does seem like they are simply not willing to elect a female at this point in time and certainly a female from the “left” side of politics.

Will take some cataclysmic events (be it economical, societal, climate) to affect his base to get them to turn. Clearly January 6 was of no relevance to them.
