USA Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his role in the Trump government

RFK is a certifiable maniac who is opposed to vaccination and is an active proponent of conspiracy theories.

In 2023 he claimed that Jews and Chinese people are less susceptible to the virus which is the cause of the global pandemic, and that this may be the result of deliberate genetic engineering.

However, he cannot be dismissed as a fringe lunatic. He is giving expression to powerful trends within the US ruling elite, which is deliberately whipping up fascistic sentiments that have a long history in America—antisemitism, racism, anti-Chinese bigotry.

Kennedy, who has no medical degree, has used his immense wealth, fame and connections to spread the pernicious lie that vaccines cause virtually all developmental disorders and diseases.

He intervened in Samoa with his anti vaccine demagogy to agitate against vaccination for measles. He contributed significantly to the entirely preventable deaths of 83 Samoan children from measles.

This is what Dr. Alec Ekeroma, director general of Samoa’s Health Ministry, told the Washington Post :Kennedy “will be directly responsible for killing thousands of children around the world by allowing preventable infectious diseases to run rampant.”

His intention and his assigned role in the Trump administration is to repudiate all public health measures that are any barrier to profit.

Trump's appointment of Bhattacharya to the head of the National Institute of Health complements the appointment of RKF. Bhattacharya was one of the leading advocats of "herd immunity" policy (articulated in the Great Barrington Declaration) which declared that COVID should be allowed to run rampant without any public health restrictions.

These appointments, of anti-science quacks and sociopaths signal that the intention of the trump administration is to totally eviscerate public health in the US and its connection to scientific knowledge.

There's a lot of countries don't add it to their water. Most of western Europe doesn't.

  • Western Europe: 98% of the population in western Europe drinks non-fluoridated water, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland.
  • Other countries: Norway, Scotland, and Sweden have also stopped fluoridating their water.
    • Former fluoridation countries: The Federal Republic of Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, the German Democratic Republic, the Soviet Union, and Finland all previously fluoridated their water, but stopped.
That's often because those countries already have ample levels of naturally occurring fluoride in the drinking water. In other words, they don't need to add it because it's already there. Fluoride is basically present in all fresh water, regardless if it's added or not.

Good post.
This is an example of why I like to hang around in this end of the pool. We have posters who will go out, dig, and post factual information that actually informs. I'm over 60, spent the first 30 in the US drinking fluoridated water, and never knew it was present naturally in fresh water. Good stuff. :thumbsu:

From memory, in parts of the US they reduce the level of fluoride naturally occurring in the water because it's higher than optimal.

Bigfooty socialists in absolute shambles

Let me guess what happens next "I never liked Bernie, he was a perennial loser that's old and senile, just another old white crackpot"

Perfect example of the MAGA you're either with us or against us, sane people can be disappointed by this but still admire what he's done, keep enjoying your victory lap though.

I still like Bernie, but I haven't read what he actually said.

And of course there is no link with that Tweet so why even post it? Can you get us a link?

Not sure what the socialists think.

Not sure if this is left enough for you but here you go

  • Bernie Sanders is taking on ultra-processed food in his final weeks leading the Senate health panel.
  • Sanders wants the US to catch up with other countries, which have cigarette-style warning labels for food.
  • He sees a potential opportunity to work with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on this.
Sanders hoped the discussion would harness the buzz around Kennedy's MAHA movement to make warning labels a policy priority.

"When Kennedy talks about an unhealthy society, he's right. The amount of chronic illness that we have is just extraordinary," Sanders said.
Where has he considered supporting Kennedy for HHS secretary?

I cannot see that in the article you provided.

Considering working with someone to deliver their suggested initiative = considering supporting them

Original tweet was fine.

Those that see the world in two colours and have elected to be a cheerleader for their side will selectively nitpick subconsciously.

Don't fall for that nonsense young man

Don't be silly.

IF Kennedy got in, THEN there's the potential.

That's not "I want Kennedy in over all others".

Lol here is another article from a heavily left leaning news source

It's evident Bernie agrees with RFK Jr on many things and will in fact be sitting down with him to talk. A reasonable person would say considering support is an appropriate statement.

But let me guess, notwithstanding the overall content from Bernie in the article, you will selectively pick the CBS paraphrased statement: "not made up his mind on whether he would oppose President-elect Donald Trump's pick of Kennedy to head the nation's health agencies." to imply does not oppose =\ support

lol- what are the “many things”? Sounds like they might both be in on one broad and obvious area- that America needs to eat more healthy food. Didn’t the article start by listing a number of things they disagree on?
Of course if Bernie can help that nut job to think more clearly- well -that can only be a good thing.
