True. But the money they're offering Boyd is the money they offered Patton months ago. Who were they planning on trading for Patton? Because their first pick wouldn't have been enough.
Perhaps they were prepared to part with one of their highly rated youngsters in order to get the deal done. Who knows, but that idea is well and truly in the past now.

Beams gone for 5, 25 and Crisp.

Pies may reach for Laverde or bite the bullet and take another tall like Lever even though have Sharenberg waiting.....Their midfield has taken a beating though.

Langdon, Frost, Sharenberg
Williams, Reid, Seedsman
Freeman, Swan, Sidebottom
Dwyer, Cloke, Broomhead
Elliot, Wright*, Blair
Grundy, Pendelbury, Macaffer
Kennedy, Crisp, Goldsack, Young

The 22 is talented and young but already it's looking like it has to rely on inexperienced players while the depth isn't there anymore.

You can take Sharenberg and McCaffer out of that side for the next season anyway ...

I would happily offer Boyd a 8 year deal on 1 mil a year to come to princes park, sure there are risks but I think the reward could well pay off in having a genuine monster target to lead our attack for the next decade.

At 4 & 7 they could get Wright/McCartin & best mid. And they still have pick 6.

If I was the Dogs I'd take the 3 top 10 picks over spending 1 mil for Boyd.

I wonder how much the events of the last week have informed the Dogs judgement. If ever a club needed a good news story it is the Dogs right now.

Second try with 5, Varcoe, Greenwood added to their side...

Will assume draft goes: Petracca, Brayshaw, McCartin, Wright...

Langdon, Brown, Keefe
Williams, Frost, Toovey
Varcoe, Swan, Sidebottom
Dwyer, Cloke, Broomhead
Elliot, Reid, Blair
Grundy, Pendelbury, Greenwood
Kennedy, Freeman, Goldsack, Young/Crisp/Pick 5

TBH, don't reckon the GWS list is that good. Granted they got the pick of the crop for a couple of years, yet their best player has had 2 knee recko's.

For all the hype on Boyd, he's a one position player capable of 70 goals a year...................if that's a once in a generation player, as he was touted, will go hee for tiggy.

I think he' potentially the best KPF in the comp. whether that's worth 8% ish of your salary cap and sacrificing the chance to have 3 picks at the pointy end is a different matter.

The Dogs have no key forwards, add in his cost, (both immediate and ongoing), and that's a shit load of pressure. Potential... Worth 10k a goal, and 3 top players?

Don't think so. The dogs are just sabre rattling. #4 & #7 will get Griffen.

Does anyone know if Patella tendinitis goes away? Because Whiley had/has it.
It's all case-by-case. Tendonitis is hard to treat in general - there isn't much bloodflow into tendons which makes the healing process considerably slower than muscles. Anyone who has done their achillies will tell you about that... I have hamstring tendonitis and whilst my medical care was probably not quite the same level as an AFL player, it wasn't that far off. Still, looks like I will be living with that flaring up every now and again for the rest of my life. Having said that, not all tendon inflammation issues are going to be bad. Sometimes they will just be annoying or need minor pain relief.

Long story short, the clubs get all the medical info on their players. If the sports doctors think he will be OK long term, it's nothing to worry about.

Not sure we'll get anything from Robbo, Warnock or Lucas.

At this point I'd not mind retaining Robbo. He does offer something different and truly gives a s*** about what he now owes the club/team mates.

I just try and imagine Warnock or Lucas doing the same if in his shoes, and I don't see them doing as much as Robbo would.

Patton was out of contract at the time I believe (stand to be corrected) which would have made it easier to get him, especially if he went into the PSD with a $million price tag on his head.

Wasn't out of contract.

Josh Thomas?
They instantly look a hell of a lot weaker without Beams and Lumumba.

Thoughts on 19 for Watts ??

That would net us Jaksch Watts and Whiley for 7 .
Add Jones for 46 .

Then add whatever picks we can gather for Garlett Robinson Warnock Lucas etc , add them to 28 and head to the draft .

Don't you think having Watts, Whiley, Walker, Watson, Warnock, and White on the list we would be just to alphabetically unbalanced?
