Also don't think Barrett has done any radio. Can't even throw to ads or manage the run down with any kind of assurance.

Imo I believe the type of players we're after are ranked around the 7,8,9 bracket and at pick 2 the players are more outside mids.

It's clear that he just reads the papers and forms opinions based on numbers and the profile of a player rather than their actual or potential ability.

Barrett is like a child. If he doesn't understand something it's no good. I personally think Melbourne's off season has been fantastic. Yet he still wants to bring it down. Unfortunately he is right about last year when Crazy Neeld got his way on a few trades like Pederson.

I don't think anyone is denying that they have been. But I think most supporters are confused as to his calling of our recruiting as a scattergun approach for the second year in a row. When we have only targeted midfielders as we have the worst midfield in the comp by a mile is not really a scattergun approach.

No denying that Melbourne have been a basketcase, but what has that got to do with this Trade period, when we have a new coach, CEO and recruiting manager?

The criticism of Barrett is his lack of understanding of list management and players. Last year he was scathing of us for trading pick 3 for Hogan, when he clearly had no knowledge of Hogan. This year he's bagging the Dom Tyson trade and continually ignores the pick 9 component to it. Then he admitted that he hadn't seen Dom Tyson play.

It's one thing to have an opinion if it's based credible information, and it's another to make inflammatory comments just to get a reaction. The bloke is a flog.

I don't think he's ever actually hosted anything ever (television or radio), and he's been plonked in to compare a show about something he clearly has very little knowledge of, and very little willingness to learn about.

Fortunately for him he's the 'best in the business' I guess...
