Trade Rance +#12 +#19 to Gold Coast for #1 and #2. Improves GC backline, culture and shows good players want to go there. Sets us up for the future.

Alot of people seriously underating Bellis. Thankfully Gold Coast aren't.

He’ll set a training standard for the young guys they’ve got.
Not the greatest player they could get but will bring a lot of value to them.

Of course, but working in AFL House means he is more likely now to have a beat on the pulse of the AFL (even if it's just water cooler talk)

Also some are querying if the AFL use him occasionally to fly a kite and test the waters on controversial issues

There's a lot of juicy DFAs up for grabs this season. Chris Masten is probably the one that best suits the way we play. We'd be crazy not to top up a bit with someone like that, or maybe David Armitage. Honestly, some of the names up for grabs this year are unbelievable.

So T71 reckons Crouch is now out of reach. I'm not disappointed much. He'd be very useful. But I reckon Graham, Ross, Pickett and Higgo cover that.

We've got a strong draft hand in a year with a very weak top end, and quite deep middle. So looking forward to seeing who drops to our first - usually a good player. I sort of hope its that de Koning is there. A 200cm KPD would be tasty.

IMO a better system is the no compo pick NBA model. AFL wont do it cause they want equalization but richmond keep bossing the league

We gained Lynch but we’ve lost Conca and Ellis to big contracts too. Hawks lost Franklin then got Frawley the next season.

Salary cap relief is the compensation IMO. Most 8 year players are probably looking at making 5-600k by that contract minimum, otherwise they wouldn’t have 8 years of AFL football under their belt.

Not this year. Clear top 3 elite players (2 then another maybe). Then a long stretch of very good players to maybe pick 20. Then a long group out beyond pick 40 of good draft picks (maybe to 60 depending on the draft 'guru'). So trading up from picks 19 and 20 will be to picks of about the same quality.

In a normal year definitely worth it to get that A grade talent. But this year it sounds like B+ grade talent is very deep, and A grade not so deep. So go for 2 instead of one slightly better option.

just listened to the Barrett BEllis compo meltdown...wow, he really does have NFI. So anti-Richmond its not funny. Can't get past the fact that its irrelevant we're Richmond and have won a flag. Those are the rules. What a knob.
