Friends of ours have lived next door (100m away) to the Butters' for years. One of them is an Essendon supporter.

A couple of years ago in the off season she did some art work on Zac's friend and she refused to accept payment. She told Zac his friend doesn't have to pay but he can return the favour by signing for Essendon.

In her words, his response was, "If I did leave Port, Essendon isn't the team I'd be interested in."

I also work with a guy who grew up in Darley and spent a fair bit of his teen years hanging around with Zac. He tells me after the 2021 Prelim, "WESTERN BULLDOGS" has been written on a whiteboard at Alberton Oval as a reminder of that painful loss and its the one team since then they have wanted to beat. That's both annoying but also cool.

So we can all put it to rest now and just enjoy this season, safe in the knowledge that Christmas is coming early this year.

They're just miserable about everything. Whatever happens, it's someone else's fault and they've been given an unfair hand, and they collectively can't help but feel sorry for themselves.

Couldn't imagine 'supporting' a club and sport where everything is so negative.

We used to be like that, but grew up as a club and started making the right appointments and built the club up…they just continue to whinge and moan, don’t change their processes and wonder why they don’t get better

On the road, third state in three weeks, government wouldn’t even let us leave our hotel room let alone train on the ground… then pull down their pants like that. Doesn’t get much better than that. The crown jewel for Hinkley’s career.
