What do Geelong have to trade this year? Do they have their own first round pick? I'd be okay with trading Smith for a top 10 pick and steak knives.

They have pick 8 currently and I'd also be okay with this.

Not sure what's happening in that head of his and to be honest I don't really trust the club to be able to manage him. A fresh start might be the best thing for both.

Geelong have no trade currency, first round pick and then all the way to the 5th round. Not a good time for them to be rebuilding.

They will find a way. Brought in Bowes and Henry last year, and all it cost them was upgrading their late 1st to Pick 7. If you’re ever doubting a large Victorian teams ability to rebuild, always remember that Gold Coast exists

Not enough to give us for Baz though, still under contract and a high draft pick, has the ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck I.e. Brisbane final.

Trade Bevo for Simpson. Both need a new team…..

Rather Simpson who actually looks like he has a few tactical choices and has only been stuffed by injuries and poor list management.

Need to move on slower older midfielders ASAP.

Also, stop giving long term contracts to older players. This bites you in the butt IF they drop off a cliff earlier than expected.
Unless it is Libba. It is clear the past two weeks, he is our most important player, even more then Bont to a degree. We are seriously effed if we do not find an elite clearance hard nut with a good football IQ and extraction skills, before he retires.

All on Bevo. He should have been West and Garcia in there already. We are terrible at developing players.

Not sure if they have one, but if Geelong throw down a first rounder for Smith surely we consider it

Macrae's drop off is a big concern, contracted till 2027.
I know people say he is not being used right. Maybe. But he was never quick, but the drop off in his pace started last year and he was only 27 not 30 plus. And also for someone who is vice captain, I have seen him quit in chases a couple of times.

Think we need to accept the pace of the game has potentially caught up with him. He is still good at clearances, but cannot ride on that alone. Will be interesting to see if he can wind back the clock, or whether his peak ended to soon. Give him a season under a new coach first.

Duryea has been good pickup last few years but time is up, cannot offer him new contract, he is done and waste of list spot for year if we sign him on, will be a serious black mark if Power can't make this decision

It's true he's never been fast overall, but he is or rather was elite off his first few steps which helps him in congestion along with his agility. Looking back at his draft combine results, he actually beat speedsters in Adam Saad over the first 10m for example. He drops off over his next 10m though.

Hopefully he can get his athleticism back as I think we are stuck with him. It seems he loves the club too much and I doubt he would want to leave even if we tried to kick him out.

Anyone with half a brain would have given Cleary an extended crack realising that Duryea is cooked.

At the very least it would have increased Cleary's market value or encouraged him to stay.

We could lose West for the exact same reason.

we need to hold firm and demand a high first rounder for Smith, entering his prime with runs on the board, not a great year but that happens.

my issue with him is he is not courageous, he picks and chooses. watch 11.15 to go in the second qtr today as an example, and there are many others
