Fergus Greene is too good a footy player to be playing bush footy no matter the level

Don't mean to be negative but this other photo from the same session looks a bit less flattering:

That’s ok Nancy ;)

I know he’s not the biggest (look at Naughton behind him, jeez!), but looks a really good size for an athletic third tall. Even though he’s taller than most third talls, best comparison for him in the style he can play would be someone like Adelaide’s Tom Lynch and he outsizes him well in height and size:

Could you imagine if everything clicked and we had a 2m tall player covering the ground that a tall defender can’t keep up with and a small/mid size defender can’t compete with on the lead? His kicking skills are very good and aerobic capacity is great, a lot of people will still write him off but he’s only 23.

Just a person with an opinion on list management based loosely on pyramids of different levels who must be relentlessly shamed and ridiculed for having said opinion even after making it abundantly clear that it is only my opinion. I can confirm i am not a dietitian.
I was joking Joyimbo. I think your post was really a good read and made a good contribution. Apologies for any offence.

Hard to believe he’s nearly 2m. Could be such a weapon but the role you’ve described has an early career JUH written all over it.

Coming second (behind Wallis) in a run?
I don't understand how this is bad? 🤔
(Sorry if I've missed a joke... And maybe it looks like he did too!)

Also, Triple Baileys, if one of our recruiters/list management team develop an intolerance to gluton we're in a world of hurt! 😉

Just my opinion but the modern game doesn't help Schache. The endurance animal is far easier to negate with rolling defensive zones and 3-4 tall/mediums who can roll off their opponents at any given time.

Why Naughton (and Jamarra will) succeed in the modern game is that they have power. Burst speed and strength to get free of their opponent and push off their opponent. Schache's biggest issue is that he doesn't have Power. That makes it extremely difficult for him unless the ball is put lace out on his lap. Naughton and Jamarra will make their own opportunities. Schache is good at finishing the good work of others.

If Schache could find a yard or two of burst speed he would make life much easier for himself. Tom Lynch the example you mentioned has the speed and agility that Schache doesn't have. It's always been my biggest worry about Schache and why I don't think he will last in the modern game. I hope I'm wrong. Even then though if Schache does make it you have Jamarra, Naughton and Schache in the same forward line with the need for one to provide ruck support (a role I don't want any of them to fill).

How good would it be if this guy just started crashing packs and hurting anyone getting in his way :relieved:

It might click for him this year but I have my doubts. Let’s be honest he’s been in the system long enough that if he was going to be the “aggressive crash packs” player he would of shown it a lot at AFL level. He’s not going to be that type of player everyone thinks he needs to be to make it. He’s the 3rd tall that runs his opponent of their feet and runs into space to take easy marks. He has huge talent and a good kick for goal.I would like to see him get a conservative 5-6 game run at it to see how he go’s but he seems to get dropped after 1 or 2 bad games. Now let’s not all come after me with flaming sticks and pitchforks as this is my opinion 😂😂 I’m not calling him cowardly I’m just saying he’s not that type of player.

The only way we could get rid of him for draft points is if the AFL introduced a cash for clunkers scheme.
