I have no time to go back over the posts but it seems the feeling was we would get reamed.

I hope everyone is pleased with the result. Jake out was never going to be a good thing, but keeping 9 and 16 and bringing in Josh Schache for 2 parts of funk all is a pretty good result, I’d think.

I’m really pleased we got the deal done that we’d put so much effort into.

Go Dogs.

How do all you pessimist fans feel now. Time to EAD and microwave your memberships. You've truly embarrassed yourselves and shown the rest of us what kind of shit supporters you all are.
To the rest of us... Go Dogs. Can't wait for 2018 !!!

EAD yourself m8.

Upshot we've mismanaged the Stringer trade and seen largely unproven patchy players like Cameron and Weller go for high picks, while we get stuff all.

Then we trade two seconds and a golden 18 2nd rd for a 10 pick upgrade on P25. FMD. That is even worse than the Stringer effort.

Then we recruit Schache. The Homesick Kid who no one wanted with possible mental health issues to pair up with the clinically depressed Boyd. Awesome.

One of the worst trade periods I've seen since the Rhode 2003 disaster.

I don't think we will keep Crameri. Two years out of the top level, any level and it's a long way back. It could also depend on a thorough medical assessment on his rebuilt hip that might decide his fate. Too much of a risk IMO.

Is now the time to point out that the last pick 1 & 2 FF & CHF combo was Nick Riewoldt and Justin Kosziche?

Essentially we gave up 2 mid-level picks in a supposedly weak draft which we didn't really want to use anyway for a tall forward with potential.
If he was missing Victoria and his family and friends, a move back home might just be the tonic he needs to knuckle down and make the most of his career.
Oh yeah it's a great deal for you guys, don't get me wrong. It's essentially a no lose situation for you guys, if he comes good it's a steal and if he doesn't, no real loss.

I'm just saying he isn't exactly going to set the world on fire in 2018, give him time and maybe being closer to home will help him realise his potential. He won't be starting 22 quality for you guys just yet since I suspect you'll bounce back into the finals next year.

so 4 players off main list Murph, Boyd, Hamilton and Stringer

3 on Trengove, Crozier and Scache with 2 high draft picks, do we need to use the 3rd in the 80's ??

Therefore we need to delist 1 more if we only use 9 and 16 or 2 more players if we use 81 as well that are currently not contracted ie Crameri, Honey

Hopefully Crameri stays for me
Perhaps:

IN; Trengove; Crozier; Schache; #9; #16; #82
OUT: Stringer; Murphy; Boyd; Hamilton; Honeychurch (?); Crameri (?)

Look to redraft Crameri with #82 if he is hasn't found another home and select Smith in the Rookie Draft. Failing that, draft Smith with #82.

For those of you who haven't actually watched Schache and just see him as Pick 2 from two years ago, he really isn't that good.

His "great kicking" is actually quite bloody awful, has no work rate and not great at contested marking. There is a reason not a lot of Melbourne clubs were interested.
That's because he played at you're rabble of a club, now he is home will be very good.

Chances are that West is bid on before where that second pick lands next year we just use later draft points to get him. Also Khamis a likely type and might go before our 3rd. If we go into a little debt for draft points for 2019 so what.

Next year we get a first round draftee, West & Khamis

You funking idiot...the party was just starting to go nicely and you piss in the pool!

Damn, I'm going to miss Stringer. He hasn't even entered his prime yet. Go watch the 'Get Excited' video. That's just scratching the surface. My favourite was his 'split the difference' goal against the Saints called by Dwayne
Yeah, nah - welcome to the Ryan Griffen temple of club wrecker hatred Jake.

I just feel sorry for the young girls who sit near the Bulldogs race who sang the Stringer tune every time he kicked a goal (which wasn't very often this year). They obviously adored the guy as much as he does himself.

Sorry for my clueless question but is he our academe player?
