Are there still people who want to claim Trump is a beacon of free speech?

Throw them in jail for trash talking and dissing the judges, unless of course they are the presiding judge(s) in any number of instances where Trump is on trial. It's OK to do so then and would be unamerican not to.

Floridog what's the popular view in the states of the electoral college system. Is it topical and is there any appetite for a review/evaluation? From the outside it seems archaic and disproportional.
It is archaic and disproportional. You could almost say that it is DEI for white people. As is the archaic and disproportional Senate. There is a fair bit of appetite for review/evaluation but since it is the only thing keeping one of the two major parties afloat there is also a great deal of resistance. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC) is an agreement among a group of U.S. states and the District of Columbia to award all their electoral votes to whichever presidential ticket wins the overall popular vote in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. So far 17 states have joined the compact representing 209 electoral votes. 4 more states are in the process of joining which would bring the total to 259 electoral votes. The compact only goes into effect if enough states join to get to at least 270 electoral votes. If this happens then the electoral college system is effectively ended. Though there would be legal challenges and the current Supreme Court would certainly rule against it.
