The poor fella was just finding his level in the conference league too.
Brutal troll of your own player haha.

Shoes how bad he is regardless of drug charges.

Muddy should be demanding a refund for whatever PEDS he has taken as the performance enhancing part clearly didn't work as advertised.

Had no idea this was a thing. It's the old club world cup format. But Madrid went straight to the final instead of playing a semi.

Yeah think it's the last of the old format.

Was reading that the other confederations wanted the club world cup format still around yearly instead of four years so they kept it in a smaller and shortened version

Seriously is there a bigger muppet around in the game than this thug

This is on top of his earlier charge of making malicious communications about Eni Aluko where he claimed she had only been hired as a pundit for an England men's game for 'diversity and inclusion quotas'. That's a subjective opinion. But it's an objective fact that Aluko has not played or managed at the level she was meant to be the expert commentator for.

The latest charge is for a tweet where he said Aluko and Lucy Ward were the 'Fred and Rose West of football commentary'. I don't think any reasonable person would think he was alleging Aluko and Ward were serial killers. It was just a hyperbolic statement that they 'murdering' the commentary. Like we might say 'butchering' a chance at goal. Jeremy Vine didn't get in trouble for claiming someone was 'the Jimmy Savile of trolling'.

Jeremy Vine and Barton settled their differences in civil court. Vine accepted Barton's apology and financial settlement.

I don't know why the police and CPS are getting involved in all this.

**** sake give it a rest.

Barton is a campaigner, and deserves all the grief he gets off the police/CPS.

Aluko is an awful commentator, Ward is meh. That's all he needed to say.

Funny how Barton never seems to bothered by the awful male commentators we have.

That's not how the law is meant to work.
He deserves all the grief he gets because he constantly pushes the boundaries of the law and often oversteps.

Free speech can mean pushing the boundaries of what can be said. The same standards need to be applied in each case. A civil court ruled that Barton had defamed Jeremy Vine by implying he was a pedo. A different court found that Vine had not defamed the person who he said was 'the Jimmy Savile of trolling'.

Let's be clear we are talking about the 'expert' co-commentators, not the presenters. Barton has criticised male experts too but at least they have played at the level of the game they are commenting on. None of the women 'experts' commenting on men's games have.

Sacchi was a shoe saleman, Sarri was a banker. Houllier, Hodgson never played at professional level.

Does anyone give Mark Howard or James Brayshaw (footy) or Jason Bennett etc etc trouble for commentary specifically regarding not having played at the level? Not that I can think of. Many comment on how good/shit they are but not really about their credentials.

Looks to me like Barton was just being sexist when all he had to say was they aren't very good at commentary and punditry.

You've banged this drum erroneously for years. I'll repeat, give it a rest.

Tough. You push the boundaries and overstep and you run the risk. Free speech also allows you to make your point without comparing people to mass murderers or pedos.

And many of the experts that have played the game are horrible commentators. It's almost as if playing men's football at a high level isn't a prerequisite for being able to commentate on it well.

Michael Bridges? Rubbish.
Efan Ekoku? Rubbish.
Joey Barton? Rubbish.
David Platt? Rubbish.

Only former player I can think of off the top of my head who is good is Andy Townsend.

You're a woman hater, time to admit it and stop being a pig.
Leon Osman is decent. Carragher? Rubbish, as is Neville. Alan Smith is decent and so is Don Goodman. Karen Carney is also quite good.

Ekoku goes alright. Don't mind Jim Beglin.

Then there's the great man, Danny Mills.
