This is all feeling depressingly familiar.
The ball is moving around. We haven't had batsmen who can play lateral movement since the golden era.

Problem is, who replaces him?Labuschagne's spot in the side really should be starting to come into question TBH.
For anyone watching, has Mitch Marsh come out and decided to do Mitch Marsh things? Strike rate of 150+ suggests so.

Apart from his 100 on a road the other week, he hasn't scored runs in a while. Will Pucovski, in an ideal world.
Not to mention the second he walks out he's going to cop a short ball barrageApart from his 100 on a road the other week, he hasn't scored runs in a while.
It sounds like the mental health stuff is a much bigger issue for him than the concussions. I wouldn't rule out him getting back to test level but I can't see it for a few years yet.Not to mention the second he walks out he's going to cop a short ball barrage
I'd love nothing more than for him to have a long and fruitful test career, but I don't see it happening without him compromising his long term health.
That little red Westpac ad banner between the overs in the live Cricinfo tab is so triggering when you click on and off the page. Looks like we've just lost a wicket every time I check in on proceedings

Yeah fair point, I meant more in terms of stopping him getting picked in the team short term. He should give it away, just doesn't look like he wants to.In the short-medium term perhaps.
Johnny Platten no doubt seemed fine enough for years after he finished up playing. Concussion is all about the long term impacts

I think there is definitely an element of personal responsibility involved.Re: Pucovski and concussions. At what point does personal responsibility come into this? We know a shed-ton more nowadays than ever before, but if somebody is willing to risk it, then isn't that up to them? Same goes for footy.
I'm not sure where I sit on that one, it's a very interesting debate. I do wince a little every time I hear Pucovski is back playing.
Professional sporting clubs are huge businesses that employ multiple medical personel and have access to experts the average person doesn't. I can't cop them trying to pass the buck onto kids with no real knowledge in the area.Re: Pucovski and concussions. At what point does personal responsibility come into this? I'm suggesting the opposite. That all of that medical knowledge is passed onto the player, and advice given to maybe call it quits, but the player says no, I love this game too much and it's my life and I'm willing to accept this risk.Professional sporting clubs are huge businesses that employ multiple medical personel and have access to experts the average person doesn't.
