THE BOARD. PAFC DIRECTORS. Why? Just why? 😢

Wanganeen was a complete waste of time from the start. He offered absolutely nothing at board level. I said as much a couple of years ago and got accused of being racist by some. Has anybody spoken to Snowdon to see if it was his intention to ask the hard questions of Koch and Hinkley? Will he? If he does, great, but who says he will?
I'd argue it's not Snowden's place to eyeball Hinkley, that's an operational discussion. The board should be asking those tough questions on the CEO, Hinkley being an employee under the CEO

Hinkley makes presentations to the board. That's when the eyeballing and hard questions have to take place, just like they do for any presentations by the CEO, the CFO, the marketing manager, the GM commercial and partners etc to the board.

lmao yes man, add it to the list

  • AFL is run out of Melbourne
  • women less good at sports than men
  • Halth (??), shitty poopy pants
  • Waganeen only picked because former player

The smartest guy in the room once again. Should be CEO of MENSA

Given the club doesn't allow or encourage candidates to openly canvass for votes, say at Talking Footy on Thursday night at the Port Club type event, yes I know covid means this probably wont occur in 2022, its pretty hard to know what their attitude is.

And if you cold call a candidate, I doubt they will tell you any specifics they will do, regarding the coach.

I recall being at a function and Keith or Kochie was talking about club direction/strategy etc, and i noticed wangas busy on snap chat or something similar on his phone. Laughable that he was on the board. I am sure he was put in as a popular vote purely to oust Fiacchi, who was an agitator (but also all bark and no bite).

I suspect the club doesn't give a blind rat's farken what we think of the candidate.

Snowden - Th Club's (read AFL's) preferred candidate. Will win in a canter.
Troughton - The wild card to show that the club offers the opportunity* to a broad range of supporters.
Stevens - 3rd man up. Not intended to win, just to provide a safe counter option and split the vote.

*Opportunity only. There is no way in hell they will allow him to get on the board.

FishingRick04 I would say you were the wild card that time you made a run.

I think Kathy Nagle was the wild card last year who got up over preferred candidate Trevor Thiele.

Well if Hinkley is invited to the board to present obviously that different. The politics is an interesting one. The FBAA board I sat on, I asked many hard questions, but the "clique", didn't like it, my life became uncomfortable for it.

They didn't think I'd have polled close to what I did to be honest. If I actually tried via sponsored ads etc I could of got more votes.

I suspect even if a member elected director gets in who seeks to challenge and not tow the line, that things will be pretty miserable. At the end of the day, its done for love and wanting to impact and if that's not happening, these caliber of directors have bigger things to worry about.

We are pleased to have the first response to our request that the three candidates running for the member elected board position state their public support for the goal of the 40,000 strong #bringbackthebars petition.

Greg Troughton’s full comment is as follows: ‘And this is what I love about the Port Adelaide football community-it’s passion!
My views are simple- and first things first. What has happened to the Magpie logo at the SANFL level? A few months ago I expressed concern on LinkedIn about its apparent deletion from the Port Adelaide SANFL football landscape. Make no mistake-I am not an advocate of the logo at the AFL level but certainly at the SANFL level (and even against the backdrop of the unified 150 years logo, there remains a place for the Magpie logo at the SANFL level). It seemed to me that even at SANFL games, and even at Alberton, the Magpie logo and name had been shunned!

Secondly, and having signed the petition very early in the piece, I see no reason why the Bars should not be worn against our traditional rivals at our home games (at the very least).

I hope that makes my position on these two passionate issues very clear. Bring back the Magpie to SANFL; Bring back the Bars for AFL.

Let’s not hide from our proud history and tradition just because there is a conflict-let’s embrace that conflict of views and opinions (regardless of what a journo, AFL or even a marketing consultant might state) and just make sure we are trying to leave the Port Adelaide Club and it’s community in a stronger and more passionate place for the future generations of Port Adelaide supporters!’

Troughton seems more concerned with the Magpie logo at SANFL level than the bars at AFL level. That's not an issue I have any interest in whatsoever.
He sees them as connected.
Which they kind of are, even if I’m not mothered about the logo

I think there was a lot of gees if we don’t vote for him his son will choose Essendon.

Is that Rucci article on Snowden accurate?

Wasn't Tony Hobby an Adelaide board member before we joined who came across to be a PAFC board member?
Yes it is. Well, the factual part, not the emotive headline.

I think I am going to be a bit juvenile and vote for Troughton. Treat the club with the same respect they treat us. It's not like it will matter anyway.

As I posted earlier, Troughton is the 'supporters' representative in the race. He's a wild card, completely unrealistic in his expectations, would antagonise Koch an Cardone... seems like the perfect choice.

without saying too much id encourage everyone who is considering voting to look into the candidates and their track records.

This is not a game of secret squirrel. They've put themselves up for scrutiny so anything you know you should share. Just make sure you're not being slanderous and you've got your facts straight.

Which candidate's track record in particular should we be looking into?

Spit it out, man!
