Yep, potentially a top 5 pick at this point. Norf should be just about snapping Mahoney's hand off shaking on that one. So hard-nosed.

Meh if it’s a top 5 pick the clubs dead anyway I don’t mind us backing ourselves. Next years draft is super compromised too.

This tweet doesn't make sense. Even if we won the flag next year North would win on points value. There's no risk associated with it for them?

So why can't we just take non-academy players? Is there no Anderson/Ash/Serong/Kemp etc next year? Surely we can extract more value for our 2020 pick if clubs will need it to match bids?

Because 11 of the expected top 20 are associated with other clubs. If we finish last and hold 1&2 with a PP , we may only be getting a players worth 13 & 14.

Still doesn't make sense other than some statistical fluke where there are just no good players next year in the states of Victoria, SA, and WA who aren't attached to an academy.
