Agree, Krug is a VFL player that shows some promise, hopefully not pinning our hopes on him or Dean at this stage.

Yeah, it’s about minimizing the impact of losing (say) Roughy and how close (say) Dean might go to that. You’re never going to fully cover the best 22 omission with a developing kid. Kreuger isn’t really replacing an established best 22 player and isn’t yet that himself so the gap will be closer if you’ve got to play an equally inexperienced kid in his stead.

Our main concern this year will be getting beaten up in the middle of the ground. Hopper, Coniglio, Taranto, Green, Kelly and co were just too big and strong for our mids.

Jack Steele is exactly the sort of player who will have a day out against our boys. Powerful, hard as nails, a contested beast. Brad Crouch, too, to a lesser extent. But after that, there's not loads of big-bodied depth running through the Saints midfield with their current injury list. So, if Adams can help us break even in the contest, we're a chance.

So much hinges on Adams for us this year. After him, our depth in big-bodied, contested mids is paper thin.

Add Adams and JDG to the midfield that played against GWS. Also hopefully get Lipinski for more than a quarter. Considerable upgrade really.

You can have Covid multiple times, it doesn't give you immunity by having it

Infection from other strains don't do much to stop Omicron infection. However our infections would have all had Omicron and the jury is still out on Omicron re-infections, it's unlikely in the short term though - otherwise you wouldn't get rid of it so easily.

Realistically we are sitting quite well on the injury front. Only Maynard and Roughead as regular best 22 out, WHE is arguably a fringe player that many prefer not playing anyways. Murphy isn’t best 22, Kreuger hasn’t played a game, neither has dean, and Kelly isn’t best 22. We are almost full strength mate.

Vaccines don't give you immunity from catching it either. vaccinations and prior infections both provide degrees of immunity against getting seriously ill. The combination of vaccinations and natural immunity from having Covid is the ideal mix going forward.

I have a mate who has had the 2 vaccines and booster and has twice had covid (the first time prior to vaccine 2), testing positive just a few days back to his second bout, only 3 weeks since getting his booster.
