Go old school. Teeth!
No thanks. The farmer I worked for used to put the knackers he cut off on a wooden plank, take them home and his missus would cook them for him. He'd rock into the pub with a thermos of cooked lambs nuts and a newspaper parcel of grilled lambs tails, order a pot and offer to share his tucker. Didn't get many takers.

We've got Madgen likely lining up at CHB, let's call it even lol
And we have Roughy, Kreuger and Maynard missing. They smashed us last year and are more highly fancied so reckon it is a hard one to call with confidence. I spoke with a Saints fans today who is very confident about their forward line.

Krueger is a two gamer who has not yet played for Collingwood and when he does it will be in the forward line. It’s a bit premature to be calling his unavailability to be a factor especially in defence.

Agree, Krug is a VFL player that shows some promise, hopefully not pinning our hopes on him or Dean at this stage.

I think we will give this a nudge, pies by 16

Will be good to see the side in action once again.

Tipping a 22 point victory with JDG to kick 3 and have 25 touches.

Looking forward to watching Nick Daicos strut his stuff as well.

I reckon we might pip them if only for the boost/excitement that comes with a new coach. The Saints are also missing quite a few pretty good players which obviously helps our chances.

I saw enough in the Hawthorn and GWS games to suggest the players seem to be able to adhere to the core game plan regardless of the scoreboard which is encouraging.

The talls we're missing in defence will hurt if we don't get on top in the middle

Our main concern this year will be getting beaten up in the middle of the ground. Hopper, Coniglio, Taranto, Green, Kelly and co were just too big and strong for our mids.

Jack Steele is exactly the sort of player who will have a day out against our boys. Powerful, hard as nails, a contested beast. Brad Crouch, too, to a lesser extent. But after that, there's not loads of big-bodied depth running through the Saints midfield with their current injury list. So, if Adams can help us break even in the contest, we're a chance.

So much hinges on Adams for us this year. After him, our depth in big-bodied, contested mids is paper thin.

Crisp has been slated to play midfield, Maynard also, plus Jordy is supposed to be alternating with Billy between midfield and forward.

I'm actually bullish about this season. In 2020 we played finals and while we've turned over some experience since then the core talent is still there. 2021 was a cluster****, but if the kids come on and the core players don't get too many injuries, there's every chance of a bounce back up the ladder. I wouldn't be surprised if we win this. Just very happy.

I've been tossing up whether to go to this one. Docklands and all that.

But I'm not immune to the excitement of a new season, and I've hardly overdosed on live footy over the past couple of years.

I'll also be there for the debut of N. Daicos.

Pies. 36 points.

Don't live in Melb, but I can fondly remember seeing Pendles first game (on TV lmao)

Even though it's a shitty stadium, think it would be well worth seeing N.Daicos' debut game.
Was there for his father's first game, and his brother's first game - I intend to make it a hat trick!!

But wouldn't be confident with their defence. Our forwards should get plenty of opportunity, it's just a matter of us being smart inside F50, and converting our opportunities....

Just excited for the new era of collingwood, yes it will be up and down this season as the young lads adapt to a new game plan. But it’s finally here, round 1 and it’s bloody exciting.

Interesting listening to Bucks this morning on SEN. When doing his ladder predictions, he had us battling it out with another 6 sides for the 8th spot. He thought we would win 8 games at least, but if our injuries are minimal, we could win 15 games at a maximum.....

We might Sneak into the Finals at Best but we not making top 4

Unfortunately l don't share the same optimism as Bucks, eventhough it would be nice to see us get 15 wins. I would be happy if we got 8 to 9 wins, as that's 2 to 3 more wins then last year. This year l just want to see us be competitive, and develop the youth on our list.
I agree though with Bucks, that our absence from finals won't be a long one. Not like Carlscum's 10 year absence, and counting....

I wouldn’t be surprised if we start the year quite well and fade as the slog of winter hits, can’t see us in the 8 but maybe 12-15th.
I’d be happy with 8 wins and some solid signs from the next gen!

He's still really good mates with most of the playing list, doubt he'll be talking the team down publicly at all this year.

Hate to finish Mid Table and Miss Finals as you then don't get a Top End Draft Pick and not Good enough to Contend for a few more seasons

I think we're bottom 6 again, but the thing I'm most concerned about is the game plan and seeing how it holds up and getting games into our youngsters.

Clearly it won’t always hold up. It will have its ups and downs. But if it isn’t the Buckley game plan and it frees up more attacking play then it will at least give us something good to watch.
