One question to Saints fans.
Thoughts on starting a season with 7 first 22 players missing and another 3 off no pre season.
Must be a concern.

It was all going so well and then you lost to Richmond in the first game of the season. After leading by 7 goals.

The only way it could get any worse was if you sold out of the next two drafts for a bloke who won’t play for the next year. Oh…..

One day you’ll shed your Bluenesia and realise that you are the St Kilda of the 21st century (eg. a bit of a joke).
Well at least you have the self awareness to realise that your club is a joke! I suppose you've been a joke since 1966 and we've been a joke since 2002.

It's a better to be a joke club that once achieved something of relevance though.;)

This is truly some sad and a pathetic sequence of posting for merely reading an opinion you don't agree with.
Go outside and touch grass ffs.
There’s a difference between posting a well-reasoned opinion and coming in here spewing conspiracies and poor attempts at trolling. Interesting that you choose to ignore those posts from one side of the fence.

Oh look at hawks fan defending the hawks fan. Very brave.
I’m not defending the Hawks fan, he’s capable of handling himself.

Your post was really weird, as is this narrative that no one should criticize St Kilda.

No one is saying that mate. There is a legitimate discussion to be had on the topic. Issue is when posters come in with bad faith arguments to derail the thread on purpose, which in turn invites the defensive comments from St Kilda fans.

Ok, so what did you think about Josh Gabelich’s article yesterday, or more importantly Lyon’s comments about being a great place and ticking the boxes of being a destination club?

I get the feeling people still think of St Kilda as a middle-aged team treading water. But in fact the Saints are the 5th youngest and 4th least experienced team in 2025. The 'old blokes' in the team are only 30-31 maximum. A fair chunk of the rebuild has already been undertaken, really.

They're at the stage where they still need to build their depth and experience, and if they have some key players missing then it risks getting ugly.

You're accusing someone with no real history of trolling because you don't like what was said.

And why would someone following Hawthorn bother to troll St.Kilda. So many things in your existence do that for yourselves. Weirdest fanbase with the largest chip on the shoulder.

Massive concern, compounded by the fact that this has been three case for all three seasons during the Lyon/Misson 2.0 era. Lots of saints fans like to say this is just bad luck but somehow we lead the league for stress fractures while also being the weakest, least explosive squad in the comp. At least early in 2023 we could run teams off their feet in the second half but that's out the window now as well
