Nothing to lose with picking up Moore, A nothing pick on min salary that adds a strong big body for injury cover and never know he was a top 10 selection maybe he might just click and might be a bargain get like Miles,Lambert whilst also adding a huge amount to our vfl side to speed up development of the kids.
Players like Moore are a good risk on small coin
Moore,D.Cameron,S.Yarran would all add value to our list

Would be a handy pick. With the cap on rotations, mids with endurance is crucial, and Moore has a massive tank. I think with his size, and ability to go third up we may have a Shane Tuck type player on our hands which costs us nothing. At very worst he adds depth and puts pressure on the conca's etc to perform.

Doing a Barlow role is a bit optimistic but if he can play a bit like a centre floating in the back half that allows Dusty to hover in the forward halfand gives Cotch a chop out to concentrate in more dangerous areas as well as in the engine room he could play a role for us

Take into account:

- Arguably our best VFL player
- One of the best VFL defenders in the league
- Isn't in our team because our defence is set in stone
- Astbury is injury prone
- Dea is a freak in the gym, they've developed him very well and he's durable
- Chaplin probably isn't going to be playing in a few years the way he's going

Even if he isn't a permanent spot holder, we'd be getting rid of one of our best depth players and we'd get nothing in return.
A list is much more than just the starting 22.

Agree, not enough posters factor in the age factor and the fact a number of players will need to be replaced if not upgraded considering we have not entered our window and when we do it should last 6 to 8 years ideally meaning draft picks now and last year really are in the belly of our window with the energy they bring

Surely Dea is ahead of Gordon. Younger, better defender and more scope for improvement.
Dominates VFL and is better depth for Batchelor and injury prone Grimes. Easton Wood didn't start playing good footy until he was 26.
Gordon keeps a young mid out of the team, not good when we'll have Townsend, C.Ellis and Drummond knocking at the door.

Dea is an absolute spud. Donuts is even better than him. List clogger who should be moved on immediately. He will not play senior football as young players like Menadue will be played before him.

I have no idea about his suitability. Just gonna ask the question of those more in the know.
Could George play as a defensive forward??
Cheers in advance....

Dea won the VFL best and fairest finishing a mile ahead of McDonough. With Vlastuin a chance to move into the midfield rotation a big bodied defender like Dea is a handy replacement.

No Moore:
If a recycled player does not offer any big upside, better to draft another player. As Moore will end up playing in the reserves and will only be a depth player, IMO should get a player with pick 88 (which will be a lot less with all the academy picks being taken out). We drafted well last year and should strengthen that group.

Shane Yarran is 26 but would consider him as we do need small forwards and has that x-factor.

Whoever said ignore his draft pick with Moore is spot on. Port were on the ropes when they made his pick, and had a string of bad drafts on the back of poor crowds and no money.

Even if he didn't get chosen at pick 9 he would have still been a top 15 draft pick.

He was very highly regarded his draft class.

It's one of the weakest drafts ever why are you picking up anyone with 88 lol.

With forfeited picks it is higher. The picks outside the top 30 will be project players and if the club fancies a player in the draft we should keep an extra pick.

We have 3 spots on the senior list but will elevate Lambert, so that will make it only 2 live picks (12 and 52). Should delist Gordon and pick another player in the draft IMO.

I don't know much about Moore but I understand he has had a few injuries. We need to stop injury recruiting injury prone players e.g. Knights

I thought Colledge may be a better option. Supposedly delisted and to be re-rookied by Eagles. Can we get in before them in rookie draft?

You can tell the people who don't watch VFL. Menadue is miles off it - was very ordinary at tines. No chance he'll be outperforming Dea any time soon.
