Not really. I would like a Government with strength, charisma, talent and expertise. I absolutely want the current Government out. No fear about that. But that doesn’t prevent me from being a little uninspired by the quality of the opposition. Don’t get me wrong, I want them to win Government but I would like to see something better on offer
Labor had a lot of polices and good ones last election.

The liberal protection racket media lying about them and Scotty attacking like he was in opposition meant they lost.

Never interrupt your enemy when they are making mistakes.

Good thing I'm not running to be the Prime Minister then isn't it.

Albo however,...

Surely those who choose to lead us need to be judged with the highest of standards?

This 'are you for us or against us?' stuff that you're pushing is juvenile and simplistic binary bullshit. It leads to the very worst in governments and political leaders.

I didn't push any of that at all, you're the juvenile one making shit up at this stage

You are already proving my point, "perfect or nothing" is your stance, and that's a stupid stance, particularly in politics and voting

And you dismissed that graph with one random word pulled from IPA bingo. Go you

You wanted to move away from Labour of which execs are one component. IF it wasnt labour you were on about, why didnt you say that instead of trying to change the subject?

And you dismissed that graph with one random word pulled from IPA bingo. Go you

IPA what, where did they come from?

Ladies and gentlemen - the worst take on politics you could possibly have, right here.

Having seen you with Bernie and now in Aus politics, I know exactly what the worst takes are. You are the kind of armchair moralist nitpicking both sides as terrible, then you wonder why you keep picking losing sides, never get anything you want and your life is miserable

But as long as you get to appear superior, then I guess that's all you need

No one ever gets 100% of what they want in politics, but they make the best of what they are working with, because if we let perfection get in the way, it helps the absolute worst people win.

Look at the US, people didn't like Hillary Clinton, for obvious understandable reasons. What ended up happening? Trump won, he rigged the courts, and now they're f’ed for generations

Sometimes compromises are needed
I’m okay with compromise. And I understand the small target concept. I’m just hoping for a gifted leader and I’m not convinced we have found him. I’m born in the wrong time I reckon. I want to see Whitlam riding in on a horse with youthful uplifted faces singing “It’s time” or even an ex union bloke downing a beer in a single swallow

Yet the other mob look likely to be the big winners half way through the first term. The less we compare Aus with the US the better off we all are.
As you were,

I don't know you, so I won't comment on whether your life is miserable or not. Although typically when someone does that, it's projection.

The fact that you think Trump was the problem - instead of the symptom of a bigger problem - and that Hillary Clinton would've been fine tells us all we need to know. "Vote for the lesser of two evils" is a downward spiral resulting in US style campaigns and politics - I'd like to think Australia is better than that, and that we expect more from our Labor Party.

That's my point, everyone wants perfect leaders but they don't come along often, and even if you think they have IE Obama in the US, they can turn out to be terrible in the end anyway (which Obama kinda was)

There's a reason why conservatives keep winning in spite of being literal evil goblins, all the non-conservatives are too busy living in dream land or nitpicking and fighting amongst themselves, which works to their advantage. Look at the last few pages and that's an exhibit on why obviously evil bastards can keep worming their way to the very top of politics, they take advantage of how ****ing stupid the opposition voters are

Wow. Not a principle to be found. Just us vs them irrational dogma. And very angry.

If I cut out the Labor bits in your posts from the last couple of hours and replaced them with Coalition references; replacing the name 'Albanese' with "Morrison' and vice versa; your posts would fit neatly into a pro Morrison rant thread.

But of course you can't see that.

You do understand that this is a thread where the overwhelming number of posters despise Morrison and call him out constantly for his crap?

That includes me.

But I'll be buggered if I'll accept more crap just because it is a nicer hue of beige.

Simply not good enough at a time when this country is crying out for strong resolute leadership.

A cheer squad get together ?

I mean, I ain't miserable enough to get angry about a guy who didn't say RAT should be free the way you want him to, so I guess I'm definitely healthier in life and outlook

Your "both sides are as bad as each other" is boring, you're a broken record at this stage, and everything you said in the 2nd paragraph proves exactly my point about your kind of people, "perfect or nothing", and you always, always end up with nothing, and you never stop to think why because you're too fixated to realise

U wot mate, if that's what you got from my post then errrr okay, sure

You sound like Bruce making up tangents at this stage

Erm, no, they wouldn't be, pro-Scomo voters would be Xtreme coming here saying he's gonna reign for 1000 years, you don't seem to understand what you're dealing with

But errr okay, you're a weirdo thinking up weirdo things, I'm gonna stay well away now since you clearly aren't rational enough and is just making wild accusations coz I hit a nerve and got you angry, but sure, have fun buddy

Nice strawman.

Erm okay, you just dodged by saying "strawman"

Conservative voters are largely stupid, stupid people, but what do you call people like you who loses to those stupid voters time and time again? Just look at the last few pages and you'll realize there's another brand of stupidity going on

I can tell from your posts that you see political systems and structures like football teams. You've got a team, and as long as they win, that's okay. Any criticism of your team and you get very defensive.

I don't have a team, really. And it's not by choice so I can "nitpick" - it's because there's more to politics and society than just my team or their team.

No, I said it was a strawman argument because it was a strawman argument.

By the way - labelling an entire swathe of people "stupid" and voter shaming them, and then scratching your head as to why Clinton might've lost, pretty much sums it all up.
