Watched Arne Slot's presser this morning after the Hammers game...

Talks in detail about how much the fans got us across the line and how he felt he needed to go over at the end and show his appreciation.

This is a coach who in his very first season is on the verge of winning the title.

Its not just an AFL thing, there is no club in any league in the world that talks less about the fans than Port does.

The club knows a significant proportion of its fans don't rate Hinkley. They think that endorsing the fans is being disloyal to Ken. There's such a divide in the club atm & that's on them for turning the club into KHFC.

Because it seems the pass mark is making finals which dud teams like Essendon, St Kidla, Carlton, Adelaide etc etc all fail to do more often than not.

So us continually making finals is like "well what are the Port fans upset about". They don't get our past, and the whole "if your not first then your last mentality".

Know one port supporter in my bay, lifelong supporter since the 70s, can recall most of our history with sharp recall. I learn a lot from speaking to him, his football knowledge extends far beyond mine.

This is also a man who had a pretty successful professional life in business, well versed. So it surprises me his tolerance of Hinkley, he treats any mere sleight of Ken as disrespectful of the club.

You'd think it's a unanimous vote of no confidence but I'm often surprised.
