Re: Round 10 - Trades

TEAM as it stands with 14 trades and 558k kitty.

B: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Enright, Goodwin, Bock, Maguire
Emg: Sheppard, Webberly

M: Bartel, Barlow, Selwood, Boak, Ball, Martin
Emg: Howlett, Shuey

R: Hille, Clark
Emg: Warnock, Stanley

F: Brown, Pav, Rok, Gia, Hall, Pods, Ballantyne
Emg: Gumby, Hitchcock

Any suggestions other than what i have mentioned?
What I would be doing this week is trading Ball for Judd, that is all.. That will leave you with $400k and then next week I would offload Martin and pick up Ablett...
You need Ablett and Judd in your team, best 2 players in the competition and the best 2 SC scorers of the last few years..

Re: Round 10 - Trades

not with ROK at just over 400....
That will be his price next week (possibly), not now.. $428k is not just over..
My point is alot of team have ROK in there and for those coaches that need a player that can score heavily and is at a cheap price, Burgoyne could be their man..
Alot of midfields would be set by now, but for those coaches that are working on their midfield, this guy could be a huge asset for them at a bargain price..

I tend to agree with the Judd trade, however not so with Mitch Clark. Has been in and out with injury and suspension all year and only averaging about 64 from memory.

Cox will average 100-110 for the remainder of the year?

Dont see how that is sideways?

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Hey guys,

Have Kennelly..Davis & Webberley as cover.

Option 1
Do I swap for Gilbee or hang on? Not sure if Kennelly will be a keeper but really do not want to waste trades either.
$139K and 12 trades.

Option 2
Or do I offload Gumby/Rocky for cash and upgrade Martin to NDS or Montagna?.

Help please?

What do you think would be better?

Re: Round 10 - Trades

I havent gone through each post on this thread, however 1 player that I havent seen mentioned yet is S Burgoyne.. With scores of 82 and 98 so far, and his bubble this week, how can you guys see his SC scores panning out for the remainder of the season?
I reckon he could be the difference for many coaches who want a unique player to come out and score heavily.. At $386k he would have to be a bargain surely?

Yes, but what is our goal? he wont average over 100, but i guess you could trade him, wait for him to peak then straight swap him for a fallen gun.

Yep... Thought about him long and hard. But...... he's a midfielder. I can name at least 10 midfielders with more scoring potential than him.

GAJ, Swan, NDS, Montagna, Bartel, Pendles, Hayes, Judd, Selwood, Murphy, Cooney, Barlow!!!

Unless you have ALL of them, then you're probably better leaving him out.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

I'm going to bring in Pav this week but not sure if I should swap him in for Mayne or Fyfe. Mayne is a worth more and averages less, but will Fyfe keep his spot/avoid injury for the rest of the season? Tricky.

Maybe at the start of the year. By now, if you look at the teams and trades being posted, people are finishing off their midfield with players who are averaging 105+, not midpricers. e.g. Ablett, Judd, Swan, Montagna, NDS, Hayes, Murphy, etc. So that's why there's no real interest in him.

i'd be more concerned that his body will break down again
You both make valid points, I looked at his history in regards to SC and he was a heavy scorer in a team where he was getting the number 1 tag.. If his body holds up and continues to gain confidence, will he be the number 1 tag at Hawthorn? I have a gut feeling about Shaun and I reckon he will be in a lot of teams later in the season.. I reckon it will be Barlow that will be making way for him too with alot of coaches.
For example, if he scores 140+ week in, week out, would you look at him if you have trades remaining?

Re: Round 10 - Trades

you'd think having hodge, mitchell, and sewell around him would help his scoring, but he's still a bit of a gamble. if he starts pulling big numbers i'll do a straight swap for ball/barlow, till then i think i'll let that boat sail.

Why on Earth would you get rid of Barlow for when he is averaging that of a high end premium? Crazy talk.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Martin -> Montagna
or
Maguire -> Goddard

This is my final upgrade!!!

Re: Round 10 - Trades

I just traded:

Kennelly -> Gilbert (who I thought was very nicely priced)

and

Rockliff -> Playfair (just to free up a little extra cash for an upgrade next week)

Still got 10 trades up the sleeve and side starting to come together nicely.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Down to 7 trades left. 382k in bank. Purely upgrade/LTI replacements now.

Out: Gumby and Warnock
In: Playfair and Skipper.

Am very happy with my team and pray that all stay tough now.

Re: Round 10 - Trades

Given Scully and Trengove are rested, might be the right time for their owners to upgrade while there are some fallen guns around.

Gysberts finally debuting might be good value for some...I don't really want to wait though. I am still more keen on Rohan because he provides better cover as an MPP, and I'm not convinced of Armstrong's JS. Finding the extra dough for Rohan will be tough though.

I will also be watching Dennis Lane with interest...might end up having more JS than Playfair and might be a good downgrade option in a few weeks.

Im not saying to get rid of him now, or even over the next 5 rounds, i'm talking the rounds leading up to the SC finals, I reckon this guy will get tired towards the end of the year and his scores will drop off.. If he goes through the season scoring the way he is, the guy is not human...
What I was saying in earlier posts, if Burgoyne is fit and firing he will be in alot of teams for when the finals come around, this guy scores well in Supercoach, very well.. Just look at his Supercoach scoring from the passed when he was getting the number 1 tag...

:thumbsu:

I went with a similar concept...

Out: Rockliff and Warnock
In: Rohan and Skipper

Rohan to utilise MPP (bring Higgins into FWD) and I can pick from Rohan/Howlett/Bastinac to cover last mid possie.

Skipper frees up cash. So long as Gilbee doesn't score 160+ he will come in for Kennelly next week.
