Slowest Forward line setup in the AFL. This is a big issue for us. Forward line full of slow smalls with Oscar Allen at Full Forward who can only run in one direction and is super slow also.

Should be a fun day at the office watching GWS rebound with ease again.🙄

They aren't that slow. All player listed would be at least average pace for their position.

Disagree. I think this is the slowest forwardline we have had in our history. There is not one player remotely close to being called quick. And the worst part most of them are smalls who are meant to be quick for the crumbling goal. We have drafted to many plodders over the years and need urgent pace in there instead of what we have here. It's going to get ugly or easy rebounds for GWS. I hate that forward line setup. Noah Long Cripps Owies Brockman with Allen and Reid is way too slow.

I just hope there are enough individual moments of brilliance that keep my enthused, a mark, a perfect pass, etc, but most of all I want us to fight until the end.
In regards to Oscar Allen I think he is off to Hawthorn, and the conversation would have gone something like this - you are never going to win a premiership with WC they won’t be playing finals football for at least 3 - 4 years, at least if you leave WC they could maybe get a pick 2 and help to speed up their rebuild. Come play in a premiership with the Hawks Oscar.

Brockman ran a 2.93 20m sprint so isn't slow.

If you're talking X factor/too vanilla then you might have a point.

It's crap that once again this year our most important players are injured. It would be good to see how the young blokes went with the bit more class and grunt Gov, Yeo and Waterman would provide around them.

Probably the lease I've been interested watching our match ever if I'm being honest.
Even the Ken Judge years we had more going for it.
If the game blows out early I'm mowing the lawn again.

The 3 new players is the only thing that makes this even slightly interesting.
Such dark times in our history right now.

A lot of it is our own fault but some of the blame is the AFL deliberate fixing to keep us down while keeping expansion sides up. The whole academy thing has been a huge reason why we are were we are. So many draft picks are academy now going to those states. They know what they are doing and the ladder speaks for itself. We are were the AFL want us to be and that's last on the ladder. Today is a joke before the ball is even been bounced. I'm probably going to give it a miss in protest.

Matt has the key task of blocking Whitfield run, he generates so much for GWS

GTFO town. Plenty to be excited about with three promising debutants named
Good luck to them. They have it hard today playing against all the top 10 picks GWS side has through high end academy picks.

Do I sound mad. You are dam right I am very salty with this AFL corrupt run comp.
I think the Eagles and our supporters have every right to be.

Start of the season and they feed us Gold Coast, Brisbane, Derby and GWS for a side who finished bottom 4 last three seasons.
The fixturing is questionable alone. Screwed us before the season began all because they wanted those Eastern sides to have a good start so they can get more supporters. It's always been about expansion and not about what's fair.

Then you look at the free kick counts in those matches
Gold Coast 20-10
Brisbane 30-15
Wonder what's going to happen today
I predict similar GWS 30-15 against us and that's before the bounce.

Look at that then tell me why WA should be interested in watching this farce of a sport.

Free kick counts is usually because we get smashed at getting first hands on it, it’s not a WA thing. Yes I know GWS are quality and will smash us. But a few games in with a new coach, a tough starting fixture, and a rebuilding side I’m not all about outcomes right now.

Really like how we’ve drafted especially the most recent crop, and been itching to see Gross have a go in particular.

I’m excited it’s not just just same old limp midfield and there’s been at least some changing of the guard towards what it might eventually look like with Reid, Gross & Hall all in together for the first time

Yep, looking forward to that day! It WILL come...

Re the knock on Cripps, didn't he kick a couple of remarkable goals from the boundary, as he often does...usually good for 1-2 goals.
