I’m gonna hazard a guess that the problem is the same dumb chiding about how he says nice things about his coach sometimes.
Not sure if you attended the AGM? His speech was poor. Janelle Cuthbertson by comparison,.was brilliant. Positive, articulate, sees the game and her role in leadership very well even though she's on her way back from an acl. I know there's an age and maturity difference. Even managed to thank the fans and didn't profess her love for Lauren Arnell and reference her motherly traits. We're actually in the business of winning premierships. At least we were.

The biggest concern I have in Berry is his set shot kicking. Was a gun till he was drafted. Then came to Port and the first 2 regulation set shots he's had he's missed.

That's Port Adelaide at its best
First name starts with C and last name starts with D and it ain't chris Davies 🤣

JHF was really underwhelming for the majority of the contest, just looked like someone whose mind was focused on something other than football.

I must admit, the fast, free flowing ball movement through the corridor looked great at times, but the quality sides will pile on the points on turnover.

Lachie Jones had an absolute stinker last week, but he’s virtually unstoppable when running in a straight line off half back. Such a damaging asset when he gets it right.

And as usual you'd be wrong. Rozee doesn't just need us to be rid of Ken, he needs a massive overhaul of his own attitude.

It's hard to blame the guy too much, his attitude reflects the attitude of the only influences he's ever known, but while he's our captain, we are a 0% chance of winning a flag without a huge attitude adjustment. He needs to be Josh Carr's #1 priority fix up job next year. He's got the talent.

our TV was just on Ch9’s footy show and the Port/Richmond game was being discussed. Then appeared vision of their voting for the game and a S Burgoyne came in third. Those bloody vic’s have no idea!

It’s just the same bullshit and it goes something like:
1. Watch him play his heart out
2. Watch his presser or post match
3. Overanalyse and creatively interpret bits of things he says
4. Come up with some dumb conclusion about how he’s prioritising X over Y
5. Therefore Rozee bad

I think some of the resident psychos on this board are, with the impending Hinkley departure, manufacturing a de jure hatred of one of our best players.

Could you imagine if the AFLW players started professing their love and how much of a great mother Arnell is to them and their teammates.

I think I would die of laughter.

It just shows you how insane those fatherly love comments are and how far away from winning we are. Bon Voyage Hinkley.

I wouldn't mind seeing a remedial tackling class down at Alberton where players tackle at the hips and not so high. Drives me crazy. At least hit the body.

Sinn bounced off a tackle in the first. Not impressed. IIRC, his shoulder looked a little off.
I reckon Mead had a couple of missed tackles too.
Burgoyne had a more difficult tackle on McIntosh which resulted in a goal.
I'm sure there were plenty more but those stuck out for me.
Yesterday was Sinn's best game for the club by a country mile, but his tackling technique was woefully inadequate.

That `attempt' at a tackle where he ran at a tigger's player front on and with both arms outstretched leaving himself with absolutely zero protection if that player turned his shoulder or his hip into him had another injury waiting to happen written all over it.

As you suggest he looked a tad sore for some time afterwards, and like probably many Port supporters my first thoughts were has he damaged his shoulder, and here we go again because if anyone needs a relatively injury free season to cement his place in the team, it's him!

Checked out of Big Footy and the monotonous moaning? When you say “back in the day” do you mean back when people talked about the game in the review thread. After a substantial win this is our review thread…
hopefully someone will make another sack Hinkley thread?

The Trent Cotchin analogy was a good one I reckon. Great player with a sensitive new age leadership style that will make everyone feel warm and fuzzy. Ultimately though history will record that it was Dustin Martin who was the spiritual leader of that Richmond team and the man who made it all happen when it mattered. I think people see that lead from the front, 'get on my back boys' style of on field leadership more from Butters and especially JHF than they do from Rozee and that's why a lot of people don't warm to him as a leader.

People don't get to see what he does on the inside and how respected he is within the club but yet they yap about how they know better. Someone here said last week that he's not respected. Connors job isn't to make the bigfooty collective happy.

I feel like we have filled our S and C team with academics who don't understand the game.

Yes you don't have to be huge to be be powerful.

But in a contact sport like football size and inertia still matters.

On SM-G975F using BigFooty.com mobile app
Hawks in 08 had a relatively small team. Birchall wasn't huge by any standard, nor Lewis, Bateman, croad, ladson, rioli

What game you watching. Moraes had real confidence about him with 17 disposals in 3 quarters of footy.

Did not look lost

Watched him closely.

If Richmond weren’t playing so poorly he wouldn’t have got anywhere near it.

Was good for him to get his confidence up though.

Why aren't they attacking Heeney for grand finals, or Daicos for the same reasons a poster attacked Rozee earlier. All superstars fwiw.

Rozee is one of the most skilled players I've seen in a Port jumper. Could average 30 and a goal in the modern era. He doesn't need a hard edge in the media and he doesn't need to please die hard fans.

Can't agree. I watched the replay
His demeanour showed his level of confidence. His support of his team mates. Picked up SPP, confidently moved with the ball. Kid looked amazing.

Perhaps go back and watch Damgers first game
