Woohoo game day! 🎉

Not Sat so can use Bigfooty 😃

Let's hope for a focussed effort, no injuries, scarred Eagles, and a special shout out to our new and returning players.

A little test of depth early in the season with Charlie, Lohmann, Linc and Starce all unavailable.
So a bit of a test for the forward line in particular.
Good to have Day back as cover for the talls atleast.
Go Lions 🦁
Might be a little wet today

Crapola

I forgot about that.

Thanks.

Will Mclachlan be playing up forward?

That's funny because his name is Will.

Him and Beeckon are one player still in my mind. I thought they were both recruited forwards but they've been playing the back line as well?

Beecken was always a back and Will was always a forward.

Looking for a good debut from McLachlan, interesting to see what kind of depth we may have behind Charlie,
In terms of small forwards who aren't injured or already in the senior team, after McLachlan, it's pretty much just Darcy Craven. And McKenna since he normally plays in defense in the senior team.

An FYI for any western suburbs residents like me:

For a few years I've been driving through 2 tunnels to and from the Gabba, which is expensive over the course of the season, and parking in one of the streets to the north about 1km away.

This time I tried something different - parking at UQ and taking the new metro M2 bus from UQ Lakes. I was at Matter Hill in about 8 minutes and then had a pleasant 1500m walk to the gate, passing many bars, restaurants and coffee shops on the way. Costs nothing to park on the weekend and the bus is free to match attendees with a ticket. It might take a little longer to get home, but not too much. I'll be using this method all season I think. Worth considering if you're tightening your budget.
