In regards to the OP’s opening line, CJ has been awesome in his few games back. Such a dynamic player that makes us much less predictable and harder to match up on. No surprise that we’ve played well with him back in the side so yes, he stays in 100% no questions need to be asked.

Was just predicting some discussion points. I agree, we’re better with him in and he should hold his spot.

He did a lot of unrewarded running that helped open the ground up for teammates. His closing speed and defensive efforts in the forward half created some turnovers that became scoring opportunities.

I think he was also robbed a few additional disposals on the stat sheet due to downfield free kicks being paid.

Awesome really, 8, 9 & 7 touches in his 3 games back.

No doubt we are better with him in the team when in form but his current output suggest his form is far from being awesome.

I agree. He’s creating space and running hard, but he’s not impacting games as much as he could.

If Ward was producing the same on the wing everyone would be calling for him to be dropped, CJ might need to start finding it a bit more to stay in the team.

I was at the oval for the first 30 minutes of the “light training” this morning, no Meek in sight, Reeves was walking (not running) laps, Clayton Tucker is in a separate drill (probably not 100%).
Hopefully Meek shows up in the main training or Reeves joins the main group this Thursday.
JOS and Sugar still doing their rehab drills.

Serong is back with the main group.
Lewis is with the main group as well.

Our MSD pick #39 Jasper Scaife is also present.

Good to see Lewis back, he’ll be a massive in soon

C'mon, let's be real. Dropped marks, trailing his player (Jones) who kicks a goal, caught HTB on what should have been a scoring opportunity play, and very limited possessions whilst playing significant game time. He's struggled to get involved in the games so far.

CJ obviously hasn't been awesome, in fact it's been the opposite.

If anyone is getting dropped based on performances over the last few weeks he is at the top of the list.

UTAS stadium is one of the largest grounds played, would be crazy to drop CJ this week. I feel now with 3 games under his belt he may play like we all know he can.

He’s opened up a lot of play for us already. He’s just warming up. It’s obvious that we are playing better with him in the side.

CJ doing an unbelievable amount of unrewarded running, he keeps the shape wide, makes the ground big and gives the side an opportunity to move the ball centrally. Doing exactly what the coach has asked of him, his role is very similar to those of Smith and Hill in the flag era. (yes, he's not as good as them, but he's fulfilling that role perfectly)

Agree totally.

Totally! And it’s definitely not all about possessions for CJ.

Just think about how big we have made the ground look since his return. It’s pretty obvious.

If we had to drop someone this week it would be CJ. The free kick reversal was unacceptable and quite simply he needs to do more. He has been underwhelming since returning which is understandable considering how little senior football he has played due to injury. Is a super talent and just needs continuity.

CJ helps our structure, look beyond his stats and indiscretion. Look at the difficulties teams have had at transitioning the ball from their defensive 50.

Meek is in big doubt still and Ned only walked laps today.
Ramsden might get a run (played his best game for box hill so wouldn't be undeserved).

Good news around Lewis, I'd rather we gave him a week at Box Hill just to put it through the test on managed time. It appears to be a fickle injury so you'd want to be sure he's ready to go before bringing him back into the side.
