Highly unlikely that we line up as named.
Funny how we seem to do this.

I wouldn’t think it gives any tactical advantage to the team.

I’d still like to see Scrimmers given a run in the midfield at some stage though. Both he and Sicily have some attributes that I feel would be a point of difference in our midfield (marking and disposal).

I think it is a mixture of humour for the players plus Sam has a bit of smart arse in him. I like it. Same thing each week, short CHF ! 😂

Sam came out and said he’d name them from numbers if he could but the afl would ask for a please explain. He simply does not care.

I’ve been hard on Reeves but he is at the very least a good back up option.

He doesn’t have the ability to impact around the ground like Meek but his shear size does seem to wear down the opposition ruckman. He’s never going to be a high possession ruck but he makes it hard for the other ruck to be this as well.

So hopefully we can aim for a nil all draw in the ruck which I would take hands down at this stage.

Let’s not forget the absolute hidings we got in the ruck a couple of years ago when we were forced to play Nash and Kossy up against the likes of Witts!

Let’s also not forget he’s beaten some pretty good rucks like English, etc. No one realistically expected Meek to advance so far so quickly. Fingers crossed meek takes the opportunity and returns to career best form.

Breust had an unbelievable impact as the late sub last week, think he'll start as sub again, or else Calsher will.

I’d be very disappointed for numerous reasons if Calsher was sub. But I’d also not be surprised given some of the strange decisions we’ve made in this area.

Meek out makes me nervous. I just wonder how it's going to affect the synergy in the midfield.
Reeves has not excelled at VfL level. He is Very Good in the centre at VFL level and then… near non existent. He has the skill but never uses them.

Frankly, I want Reeves to dominate the smaller O’Brian in the ruck contests. O’Brian is all about the follow up. If Reeves steps back and ensures no easy out… with low based-tackles … I think he wins. But history says Reeves just watches the small people around him do their thing while he assess his next ruck contest. If he does this on the weekend, Grrrr.

This is the perfect game for Reeves.

And if he does not match O’Brian… WOW.

What did he say?

As far as I remember Will says it’s something that a lot of the clubs do and asks Sam what’s up with the crazy lineups released.

Sam says if it was up to him he’d do it in jersey number order starting in the back pocket, but the AFL probably wouldn’t like it.

He finally mentions that it’s part of one of the staff members responsibilities to submit the team (forgot their name) and they do the final positions.

It was a pretty good listen, would recommend the whole thing.

Exactly. I've seen Amon for example named on the wing for plenty of games but then play down back like he has every other week.

Apart from a few established positions the rest of the selections can be taken with a grain of salt as I swear they start throwing darts towards the end.

Home game against a team with an eerily similar profile. The outcome will be a good measure of the respective progression of the two clubs.
Yes I agree with you.
Tricky game this one, could go either way.
Will also be a test of the coaches, a real tactical battle.
I rate Sammy and his team higher than Stevie Nicks and his group (but as a hawk supporter I would say that right), but nevertheless I’ll watch the tactical battle in this game closely too.
