Sounds like Finn could be in to tag Dawson.

In: Reeves, Finn
Out: Meek, Seamus (Inj)

I want to bring the Wiz in as well, but not sure for who.

Maginess has done the job on Dawson before. Though I think Nash will get the job as Dawson's minder this week.

If Sam wants Watson back in, and Mitchell is out due to injury, then maybe Hardwick moves back into defence?

First time in ages one of our games got a preview on strategy on SEN 👍
Yep. Sanderson brought up how we're doing it considering we're low down on alot of key metrics. Perhaps bring up the past 5 weeks and see where it compares to the rest of the comp. We were last by a long way for quite a while but would be at least mid table since than. That's where the improvement has come from.

I don't think Ramsden is near ready to take on a big unit like ROB. ROB is OK around the ground, but not to the extend where it makes Reeves a liability. If Reeves can break even with ROB at ballups then he's done his job for the week.

It should he a good battle in the middle with Dawson, Crouch and Soligo in great form. Laird hasn't been as good as he was in previous years, but from memory he seems to enjoy playing us.

Dawson - Nash
Crouch - Worpel (head to head)
Soligo - Day
Laird - Newcombe

We have them for size in there.
Ned will win the hitouts so we don't lose anything there. It's the follow up work we are a bit concerned with. Needs to at least make sure Rob doesn't impact the game significantly and basically they cancel eachother out. That's a win IMO. Our midfield matches up fine with theirs.

Meek is certainly a big loss and I am not a huge fan of Reeves but there are far worse backup rucks in the AFL. The fact we're all devastated speaks more to the quality of Meek rather than Reeves being a terrible second option.

Can anyone speak to his efforts around the ground during his recent stint at Box Hill?

Unfortunately, it's not great from what I've seen. His impact directly after a bounce or throw-in is the starkest difference to Meek.

That's a shame. I agree, particularly the Melbourne game (which was the game that forced the switch to Meek) it genuinely felt like playing with one less player after the ruck contest.

Pictures Galore from today's training.
Meek not in training clothes, but in the oval watching for a bit of time. Also in the pic Hale throwing up the ball.

He did pretty much steal Hoynes stat from a few weeks back . It's a good one though

I dont ever want to see Hardwick in defence again. He tears it up as a forward and actually hits the scoreboard something our small forwards havent really done yet (Breust the exception over his career) even if Ginni and Wiz start kicking bags id keep Hardwick forward for his hardness and forward pressure - it will create time and space for the others.

Are you suggesting Finn is in, or do you have some legit Intel?

Personally I'd be surprised if he's back in..

after that presser, you'd think Finn is in, but I agree Nash would be a handy alternative.
Breust to start, Seamus looks injured, and Hardwick to go down back.
in: Reeves, Finn
out: Meek, Mitchell (inj)
Calsher might be sub this week

PS Reeves was mighty ordinary last week, but not sure you can just go with no true ruckman. Ramsden not up to the task yet. Personally, I'd chuck Nash in there, and Chol as the back up. Could even give Frosty a run, he's done it before!!

Seamus not injured.

One of the thing that Newmo89 noticed was Phillips got hurt during the training.

It's a good position for the coach to be in.

I suppose at the end of the day it depends on matchups. Mitchell has proven that he can take on the role of playing on the opposition's #1 small forward, so unless teams have two elite small forwards I think we can get away with overloading the forward line and given the opponents something to think about.

Hardwick has kicked 9 of his 11 goals in two games, and had a few anonymous performances as a small forward. But that goes with the territory.

I really like that Hardwick releases Ginnivan to roam up the ground, as Hardwick plays as the stay-at-home small. I'd say Ginnivan has surprised everyone with his ability to have an impact up the ground, most of us would have had him pegged as simply a small forward that just hovers around the goals all game.

Meeky was off the track within 5 minutes. Came down and watched, was in runners.
Didn't get a chance to chat to Meeky by any chance did you? The big lug can have my syndesmosis until his feels better 😬
Noodle will ruck this weekend. Did a lot of ruck craft at centre bounces that'll hopefully help combat Riley O'Brien, who is relishing the new ruck rule

Do we think Meek is a certainty for next week at least?
