Yeah it's all very well to say we should be playing more of the kids but they need to show enough form to warrant selection.

There is no point just picking young players for the sake of it if their form doesn't warrant it as we saw recently with Collard.

If older players like Membrey and Clark are showing better form in the VFL than younger players they still deserve to be picked.

Selection integrity and making players earn their spots is still important regardless of whether you are contending or rebuilding.
.
Agree with this. I'm all for playing the young 'uns, in fact, I want the kids played as much as possible...but they also need to be managed a little, and there also needs to be standards as to what's required. If a 1/2 to 2/3 of the kids get around 7 - 10 games each this year, then we're doing well. Just need to keep filtering them in.
The penny will drop eventually. Not this year, but eventually.

Tim Kelly injured and won’t play.

well at the very least we wont repeat the great disgrace from a few seasons ago, when 4 of the big 6 at the time redden yeo shuey and sheed all missed, leaving naitanui kelly and gaff who doesnt get his own ball, kelly proceeded to totally tear axx like he came with his own ball, even i could have had a team plan that day to stop 1 player

Whilst I'm surprised Crouch didn't come in, it's potentially a smart play given his injury history. He was rushed back in round 1 and it wrecked him for months. If the flight followed by the intensity of an AFL match is considered too much of a risk I'm ok with it.

As for questions of a rift between Ross and the team I definitely don't believe that. The players are struggling and frustrated, but I don't see any discontent towards the coach.

I wonder if they will have any one who can run with Hunter Clark?

Is RTB a gambling’ man?

We are now favorites!

The tables have turned!!

WC were favorites until yesterday!!’

Trickery?

Yeah he tore us a new one in that game and he usually plays well against us so him out for this game definitely helps our chances.

I still wouldn't have us favourites though.

Why on Earth play those guys if were bottoming out and raiding the draft for the next 3-4 years.

Because it doesn't matter if we play our experienced guys or our kids.

Our midfield is putrid and our skills are below average even IF we play our most experienced players.

Playing the likes of butler instead of collard and membrey ahead of hammer isn't shifting the dial anywhere away from bottom 4.

We can tank without playing the kids.

Does it with style though. Seriously I know he hasn’t shown much so far but this kid will be a ripper imo.
Hope so.
Needs to go back to Sandy and absolutely tear me a new one.
Hope he does.

This is effectively the truth. Amazing in hindsight. If you'd taken Sinclair at #3 you wouldn't be unhappy (although no one compares to the Bont).
the bloke taken at 13 is pretty close

The way Lyon has sucked the life out of the playing group, I doubt if we will win another game this season, no matter how much he juggles players around.
Unfortunately this is the reality. The ins and outs are irrelevant, nobody can play well in this crap system. One thing I am looking forward to though is pick 3.

Really think we can win this one - a lot of players will be trying to show something.
With the negativity surrounding the team atm we need a win - we lose this / heads will or should roll.
If Ratten was sacked because he couldn't get the best out of the team and we drop to 16th - Basset needs the sack

As I've said before, Champion Data claim that West Coast are playing like a top 4 side at home and a bottom side away. If we can snatch a win there we will have done well.
That's a tiny sample size of 5 games at Perth Stadium where they've gone 3-2 with a percentage of around 110.

Question is whether they continue that for the remainder of the season. Very unlikely I think.

Interestingly Tim Kelly out and Saints into very slight favouritism at $1.88 to West Coast $1.96

Very difficult to predict what will unfold later today. Feels like the team is on a bit of a hiding to nothing. Win and we've only beaten the lowly Eagles, lose and we have to put up with Kane Cornes and Saintbloke all week. 😳
