I know Lefau kicked a couple but he looks way out of his depth and Doesn’t have the basic footy smarts yet. Why are we playing a bloke whos learning in the ones?
Definitely a work in progress. Needs to get involved in more passages of play, because his physicality is a real weapon, and prob the main reason we are playing him this early.
Other thing too is he’ll be getting used to the faster pace and bigger grounds. Played rugby as a junior and most of his VFL games at Punt Rd oval.

Graham must play VFL for atleast 2 weeks surely, and dominate.

He isnt a star, only stars should walk back in
This is a reasonable stipulation for any player (who isn't a star). Get match fit. He was brought in underdone last year and played like he was underdone. And then got injured.

I'm wondering if being a premiership player, regardless of age or form, guarantees you to be a walk-up start when coming back from injury. Who goes out for him?

Sonsie most likely, he played that half forward role.

A big roast. How the hell did Vlaustin only get 8 coaches votes, the same as Taranto and Bolton? Absolute travesty.
probably because flossy ran around unopposed where bolton and tim were more heavily scrutinised but still superb.....I'm with you though I thought Nick was clear bog.

but...

watched the replay and fuhhh lunch was out there a long time after he obviously injured it when he got nudged midair

he then did repeat sprint chase etc efforts, even taking that shot from far out on the boundary after being unable to pick up the ball normally

freaking loved the fight and the win, so hate to be negging but f me we should have had a runner out to him straight away

its the same as when he did his fn foot, insane

also around 3 to 4 mins remaining in the second is where i first saw him reach at that low hammy area

apart from that it was pure sex

i guess to sum up my feelings journey on the luncheniser's return to touch in this game

And he had some very good moments. Didn't find that much of it but when he did he used it very well. He's got pace too.

Going from Lynch and Balta up top to Kozi and Ryan is laughable. The footy looks like its been lathered in lube when the latter two try clunking marks.
Looks bad on paper but Balta is no star KPF. Set shots were rubbish Ground zero & only improved when he went into the ruck.
CFC game was great at both ends of the ground, but last 2 weeks, far from it. Borderline failure as a kpf

But Kosi is a level down for sure. Injury depth this week you'd think. He marked 7 times didn't convert. Ryan, I doubt gets the call up.

Need ruck back up too so Crayfish. Yze has played back up rucks low TOG. Dusty as a deep fwd

Kozi was literally recruited for depth, I suppose they werent confident in Lynch and rightly so.

Biggest differences for me between Kozi and Balta is speed, agility and Balta's ability to play multiple positions.

Ryan is virtually a copy of Kozi IMO with better ruck ability but 0 follow up and 0 contest desire.

Dont expect either to do much when they're inevitably picked.. if they can bring the ball to ground then its a win for us.

Ill be happy if they are dropping marks, atleast it will give our smalls a chance. But it's more than likely they will be getting outmarked, which takes MRJ, Campbell and Mansell completely out of the game and we will get hurt on transition.

From the injury list only these 2 are likely ins. From the talls id personally only go one tall but MC may go two comprising of Naismith or Ryan and Kosi. Would love to see McAuliffe debut, ready made, if we don't see the video appearing tomorrow then that answers that.

Dustin Martin, calf

"Dustin suffered a pretty severe corked calf just prior to Opening Round. He's sort of been spluttering ever since, and we made the decision to pull him out of last week (Round 3). Since then, he's put together multiple sessions. He's looking really good, and we're looking forward to seeing him return this week."

Jack Graham, quad

"He is (on track to return for Gather Round). He's been working really hard the last month. He's done a mountain of work and I'm looking forward to seeing him on Sunday."

Yeah bro, it shows that after so long out he still has it…
So he be back, no doubt

I thought he was pretty good?

14 touches and 6 turnovers. When Richmond kicked 5 goals to 1 in the 3rd quarter Macca didn’t get a possession. He’s played 4 games and he’s yet to kick a goal or have a goal assist.

Let’s play someone on the wing who provides some offensive threat.
