Round 4 has given us another high scoring round of DT points from the rooks. It will be interesting to see if this pattern continues. This weeks nominees are...

Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever - 96 DT (134.4 ADT)
View attachment 1216048
HFF
23 disposals - 7 marks - 3 goals

A dominant display from half forward by the Roys rookie sees them accumulate the highest adjusted DT points from a rookie this round. Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever pantsed Sterge in the match up and was one of the main reasons for the Roys overwhelming victory against the Furies.
  • In a resume-material performance, Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever had Sterge's measure. - 96m from 2 to 98.

ImissFrosty - 76 DT (117.8 ADT)
View attachment 1216049
CHB
22 disposals - 7 marks - 1 tackle

ImissFrosty has grown into their role at centre half back and has become a rock that Mount Buller can rely on when defending in games. Gathering 22 disposals while also restricting BRAB and MrPremiership to 0 goals apiece is an astounding feat that most rookies will never achieve in their debut season.
  • In an enthralling contest, ImissFrosty came out tops over the brave BRAB. - 69m from 3 to 72.
  • While overall a quiet day for both players, ImissFrosty was way too good for MrPremiership. - 11m from 79 to 90.

Soggy2112 - 81 DT (113.4 ADT)
View attachment 1216057
HFF
16 disposals - 8 marks - 2 goals

The second nomination in a row for Soggy2112, but this time the competition is even tougher. Moved to half forward this game and was instrumental in the Wonders victory over the Bears. The sim seems to think tony slightly won the exchange and yet Soggy got 2 goals and Wonders prevailed. Check your facts Sim!
  • Toe to toe throughout, tony either broke even with Soggy2112 or vaguely bested him - it was hard to tell. - 66m from 13 to 79.

Bluelegs - 106 DT (111.3 ADT)
View attachment 1216058
W
31 disposals - 6 marks - 1 goal

A brilliant wingman performance by bluelegs concludes the nominations for round 4. Getting the better of fellow rookie krakouers85 (the round 2 GunNomTM winner) is no easy feat, but bluelegs managed to do it. Bluelegs got a stat in every line except the hitouts, now that is what I call an all-round game.
  • While not all one-way, Bluelegs had the better of krakouers85. - 100m from 0 to 100.

Who do you think will win the GunNomTM this week?

And if you missed out go have a cry then play better qooty on the weekend!

I wanted to complain about taking too long to pick a winner, but, the Sim decided you all wouldn't have it easy! All four candidates have strong arguments on their favour!

Amazing performance for a back!

I wouldn't mess with tony if I were you. The Sim, as almighty as He is, doesn't do it! Just do like the gods and recognize that tony won.
[I don't want to go to your funeral just yet, mate...]

Yep. That's a strong showing in the wing.

Round 4 - Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever
Roys FFC - Half Forward Flank
96 DT (134.4 ADT) - 23 Disposals - 7 Marks - 3 Goals

After cleaning off my sewer gear I travelled away from Sin City and arrived at Royland? Royworld? the home of Roys FFC. TedDougChris already booked in a team field trip to the local zoo so I tagged along.
zoofieldtrip.png
As we walked to the gorilla enclosure I had a quick chat with TedDougChris
Hello Roys captain TedDougChris. Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever has performed exceptionally well in qooty at such an early stage in their career. You must be thrilled with the level of effort from your rookie?

The rookies at the Roys are a great bunch, Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever has done a great job of joining in the banter and the discussions, while also playing a very good role on the HFF - contributing numerous goals on field and numerous posts off field. It's a good mixture and a promising one for the future with us !!

Where did you find Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever and how did you get them across to join the Roys?

Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever was our #1 ticket holder last year, she travelled to all the games across the land of Sweet and was very active in the Social Club last season - although she did have a few too many on a couple of occasions and we had to let her sleep in the Retirement Village near the BJO a few times... After a fun year with us last year, she came down to the pre-season trials and was a real standout.

So we immediately signed her up !

What are your expectations of Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever for the future?

World Domination - nothing less. She has the talent and capability, she just needs to find the appropriate weapon of mass destruction suitable for her needs.... The lasso is a nice touch, but not sure if it can encircle the entire world....

I have heard that the Roys also have other rookies this season, how are they handling the SFA?

We have three rookies this year, including Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever. hotchilli is dominating his wing spot nicely and was very highly rated statistically and posting wise this year. New recruit Lore has already ruffled numerous Bomber minds, before she'd even played a game - so there is clear potential there. We think we've got a really good mix this year and hopefully they can help us crash out in straight sets in the finals once again....

We got to the gorilla enclosure and hotchilli decided to show off by climbing the enclosure walls. TedDougChris tried his best to stop chilli but it was too late. Hot chilli fell into the water below.

As we all waited in shock and horror to see what happened next, I had a chat with the GunNomTM winner for round 4 Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever
Hello Cats_R_Cool_4_Ever. How does it feel to be named the best on-field rookie performer for round 4?

It feels amazing though I should of been nominated weeks 1, 2 and 3 as well.

How did you find out about the SFA and what led you to join the Roys?

I found out about it a few seasons ago from my friend though didn’t join till this season because I was being a stubborn b*tch.

What are your first impressions of the SFA, are the Roys taking care of your needs?

It’s good banter. Yep they let me go and come as I please. They are the best!

How do you prepare for a qooty match?

I just turn up to the ground in my guernsey and nothing else looking sexy af, my whole aim is to put other team off.

Who do you think will win the Rookie Gun this season? Think you're a chance?

Yes it’s me all the way, I’m the new Dusty Martin of qooty.

Thanks for taking the time to talk with me and good luck for the rest of the season.

Let's all pray for hotchilli's safety tonight 🙏

Who will win the GunNomTM for round 5? Find out next week this week because I'm behind.

Round 5 Nominees
roundgun5.jpeg
Round 5 had some very high scores and some very low scores from the rookies. Inconsistency is a killer of late season form so all you rooks better get your act together soon. This weeks nominees are...

Bluelegs - 127 DT (133.4 ADT)
demons.png
W
34 disposals - 12 marks - 1 goal

Another nomination for Bluelegs, but this time they have upped the ante with a performance that most wingmen could only dream of. 12 marks is insane for a rookie and bluelegs didn't just clunk them, they also destroyed their opposition around the contest with 17 kicks and handballs each. To top it all off they also got a goal through the big sticks, so the GunNomTM for this week seems like a forgone conclusion.
  • While not all one-way, Bluelegs did very well against iDon. - 79m from 0 to 79.
  • not much between Antonio BlueVein and Bluelegs - the former was probably a smidgeon better. - 19m from 79 to 98.

terrybull - 81 DT (113.4 ADT)
bears.png
HFF
12 disposals - 5 marks - 5 goals

In a game that was decided by less than 4 goals, it would seem reasonable to assume that a player who kicked 5 goals was one of the main driving forces of the team that won, and that is true for terrybull. With 100% accuracy Terrybull dominated the Gumbies and managed to easily win all 3 of their match-ups on the day.
  • Regardless that this wasn't a huge game for either player, terrybull exposed Grimesy87's frailties. - 30m from 5 to 35.
  • In a bit of an exhibition, terrybull massacred EagleOz. - 3m from 51 to 54.
  • While not all all one-way, terrybull exposed GWS Goose's frailties. - 15m from 71 to 86.

Dory_77 - 70 DT (108.5 ADT)
gumbies.png
CHF
19 disposals - 6 marks - 1 goal

The first nomination for Dory after being stuck at centre half back for the first 4 rounds Barrybran finally moved Dory onto a position that more suited their playstyle. Dory Dished up 14 handballs to help their team in the forward line and it possibly would've been enough if the Gumbies defence didn't give up 22 goals at the other end of the ground. Dory also managed to win 3 different match-ups during the game.
  • Neither having much reason to brag, Dory_77 did very well against Art Vandelay_. - 8m from 0 to 8.
  • In an enthralling contest, Dory_77 had the better of RookiePick. - 48m from 14 to 62.
  • Neither having much reason to brag, Dory_77 beat AngryRanga today - but not by much. - 2m from 94 to 96.

Osc1 - 97 DT (101.9 ADT)
bombers.png
W
30 disposals - 9 marks - 1 free for

A well rounded game on the wing by Osc1 sees them get the final spot on the nominees for round 5. Gathering 30 disposals and acquiring 9 marks in a stand out performance from their team. Surprisingly the sim doesn't rate them however, as Osc1 'lost' both match-ups during the game.
  • In a solid performance, Callums_Guns won the bout with Osc1. - 38m from 0 to 38.
  • While not all all one-way, jmoo wan was slightly more polished than Osc1. - 57m from 41 to 98.

Now, if I was a bettin man (and I ain’t), I’d be keepin my eye on that young feller Bluelegs

Round 5 - Bluelegs
Mount Buller Demons - Wing
127 DT (133.4 ADT) - 34 Disposals - 12 Marks - 1 Goal

I left Roy FFC Zoo still not knowing the outcome of hotchilli 's predicament (maybe it'll be resolved later this season?), but I'm sure they're fine. I arrived in Mount Buller and was welcomed by some miscreants that I can only assume to be rookies. Pickitt and ImissFrosty grabbed my luggage and started carrying it amongst themselves (how kind).
airport1.jpeg
While they scampered their way to the exit, I sat down with manangatang and Bluelegs to talk about last weeks Gun nomination.
airport2.jpeg
Hello Demons captain manangatang. Bluelegs has performed exceptionally well in qooty at such an early stage in their career. You must be thrilled with the level of effort from your rookie?

Bluey is a deadset gun. He's really taken to the league like a Demon to snow (not the Nadia Bartel variety either).

Where did you find Bluelegs and how did you get them across to join the Demons?

I think Headless may have found him hiding somewhere on the Demons board. It's where we hide all of our future talent, you see, because nobody else would think to look there.

What are your expectations of Bluelegs for the future?

I just want him to enjoy himself and continue to get involved in the league.

But to be more honest, anything less than an EKA, a Mobbs and two premiership medallions would be a bust.

I have heard that the Demons also have other rookies this season, how are they handling the SFA?

Oh yes rookies - we have all the rookies, and I love each of them as if they were my own child. Some of them may be literal children.

I think they're all finding their feet beautifully and will settle in to make the Demons an ongoing force in the league.

Next I talked to the rookie GunNomTM of round 5: Bluelegs
129410.jpeg
Hello Bluelegs. How does it feel to be named the best on-field rookie performer for round 5?

It's such an honour to get this kind of recognition. I've been playing on the wing since I was a kid. My under 9's coach always thought I was suited to the wing position as it allowed him to drag me after five minutes on field so I could sit on the bench for 80% of the match. So far I don't think I've sat on the bench once this season which would disappoint him.

How did you find out about the SFA and what led you to join the Demons?

I remember getting a couple of messages from posters I'd never interacted with in my first couple of years on bigfooty trying to coerce me into joining the SFA. I initially thought it was some weird sex thing so I naturally blocked those posters. Years later a SFA tour of the Melbourne board piqued my interest. After Headless assured me that the SFA was mostly pervert free I decided to give it a go.

What are your first impressions of the SFA, are the Demons taking care of your needs?

I'm having a great time in the SFA. My favourite part is the team PM which I enjoy the exclusive nature of. Knowing that I can talk about other posters behind their back without them ever knowing gives me a lot of confidence.

How do you prepare for a qooty match?

Oh I have a long and complicated ritual. I'm very superstitious. I also like to read the pre-match banter in the official match thread but to save time I skip every post Pickitt makes which cuts the reading time in half.

Who do you think will win the Rookie Gun this season? Think you're a chance?

I've never won anything in my life but I think I've really found my forte in randomly generated footy matches. If I can keep up this form I reckon I'll definitely go close!

Thanks for taking the time to talk with me and good luck for the rest of the season.

Who will win the GunNomTM for round 6? Find out next week this week because I'm behind.
