My place has been swarming with rats for almost all of this season. Am I leaving out cheese somewhere? I don't know why they all wait by my door.

'No idea. Probably because they want another gun nomination.'

'Can you come down here and sort them out please. They have gone through all of my kitchen and taken my favourite snacks.'

So phil got here and started handing a smackdown to these rats rookies who think they can get whatever they want.

'Why are we fighting? We're on the same team.'

Probably wasn't a good idea to bring phil down here because now he's joined them in their efforts to persuade me to give them another gun nomination.

Hello Swamprats captain philreich. darthmann has been a great addition to your team this season, particularly on the qooty field after moving to the wing position. How did that move come about?

We're a fairly young team in terms of experience, so there's been a fair degree of trial and error with some of the team placings. But darthmann is one that's worked really well for us.

What are your expectations of darthmann for the future? Any more awards you think might be coming their way?

Just keep doing what he's doing. It was funny - he complained in our team PM last week that he hadn't received a Gun nomination this season, and lo and behold: it happened for him just days later. Maybe complaining isn't always a bad idea...…….

This nomination now makes Sin City the absolute best place for rookies this season with 4 gun nominations. How did you manage to recruit so many great qooty prospects?

If you PM enough people in the off season, chances are that at least a few of them will say yes. We got incredibly lucky with our season 32 rookies - hopefully the luck continues in season 33.

With most of the season complete now, is there any other rookies that have caught your eye? Any that you wish you could've recruited to Sin City?

damicky has been good value, as have krakouers85 and thewizardmelon - it's been a good season for rookies.

Hello darthmann. How does it feel to be named the best on-field rookie performer for round 14?

Mate I'm chuffed. It's good for my work as a 200cm 200kg winger to finally be recognised. No doubt with those stats its easy to tell that I've been whipping down the open fields at breakneck speeds at the prospect of post-match KFC and bevvies.

How did you find out about the SFA? And what led you to join Sin City?

I was poached by SarahSmiles from the Hawks board, and then persuaded to join by the omniscient and gracious leader philreich . I like the idea of being rats. They got sh*t done during the bubonic plague.

The home and away season is almost over. Have you enjoyed your first season in the SFA?

I'm a freak like many of us and enjoy simulated stats/competitions and leagues. I like making brackets and mini-comps for games like pool, table tennis etc. with my "friends", so I really enjoy that aspect of it. Talking sh*t about your opponents is always good too.

How do you prepare for a qooty match?

The three essential Bs - Beers, Beers and Beers

The worst rookie round in history took place last weekend. 17 (SEVENTEEN!!!) rookies scored below 50 DT in round 15. An appalling display from the non-nominated rookies with not much time left to get one. For the first time this season less than 4 rookies managed to achieve the magic 75 ADT score necessary to get nominated. If this is what the rooks are putting up now then I shudder at what will happen in the final round. This weeks nominees are...

Snuffaluphagus - 78 DT (109.2 ADT)

Playing a high half forward role in a very high scoring game will definitely boost your stats and they certainly did for snuff. His accuracy was put solely on display here where snuff went on to kick 3 goals straight.

Another rookie that has managed to break their way into a follower position on their team. ER performed admirably against a league veteran in Marlowe . While he didn't win the individual acclaim, his team did manage to win the game by 1 point, so he certainly had a hand in helping his team win.

• While not all all one-way, Marlowe came out tops over the brave Electronic_Renaissance. - 100m from 0 to 100.

Lore - 54 DT (83.7 ADT)

While not quite as great of a performance as last week, it is still good enough to be recognised on the list of nominees for this round. Once again achieving double figures in disposals and finishing in the top 3 on-field in marks. Lore is fitting in very nicely in the Roys back 6 and will no doubt help them work their way towards a premiership in finals this season.

The season is technically over (for me anyway), so I might as well sit in my room and watch my favourite show ER.


Suddenly there was a knock at my door. I paused and went to see who it was. It was MWPP and she was screaming for some reason.


I can't handle people screaming at me so I just closed the door and sat back down to watch ER.

Then for some reason I blacked out and when I came to I was in a dark room with a figure standing in the doorway.


"Where am I?"

"Where you are doesn't matter. What matters is who you are going to give the gun nomination to this week."

"Oh yeah? And who might that be?"

"He has the same initials as your favourite show."

I thought for a second.

"Eddie Redmayne?"


"No you idiot! I mean Electronic_Renaissance "

"That guy? Uh... fine. Just don't kill me ok, I've barely done half of my bucket list."

So that was that. I went off to Las Vegas once more to interview MWPP and the Bears promising young rook.

Hello Bears captain MWPP. electronic_renaissance has been a great addition to your team this season, particularly on the qooty field. ER moved into the midfield fairly early on in the season and is now in one of the follower positions. How did those moves come about?

Every week , tony 's mob the Leadership Group decide on a team which fits best for "team balance". Electronic_Renaissance 's penchant for cutlery and class as well as a couple of mid year slumps and the sharing of Team Sheet duties meant that we were able to reward his effort on and off the field with increasingly lucrative positions. Only ER can tell us if it was worth the cost of dressing up as a pineapple and then having to eat pizza with his bare hands on Mad Monday though.

What are your expectations of electronic_renaissance for the future? Any more awards you think might be coming their way?

I see ER as versatile, diverse and a leader in the making. He should do well in the ER/Rising Star but more importantly, he's in for the long haul, combining his natural talent for qooty with the more intangible ability to be able to adapt and get it

The season is almost over now. How would you rate this seasons rookie class?

They've been an above average cohort , and have bounced off each other and grown in confidence as the year has gone on

Any rookies you wish you'd gotten over to Las Vegas?

I'm happy with the ones we have already, especially ER and TheTick . Quality over quantity

A bit bittersweet really. It’s nice to be recognised but I also understand at this late stage of the season the bottom of the barrel gets scraped. But it is better than nothing I suppose.

How did you find out about the SFA? And what led you to join Las Vegas Bears?

I didn’t find out about the SFA, they found me! JoshWoodenSpoon reached out to me from nowhere. I really didn’t know what he was on about. Just think about it, some random guy comes around asking you to join some league where you have no control on who wins. It is all completely random (so I’ve been told). Who would want to be a part of that?

I was hoping he would forget and just leave me alone but he persisted. I’m too soft so I agreed to join. Of course I am now very glad I joined and thank JoshWoodenSpoon for his persistence. I have met many great people and enjoy all aspects of this, somewhat strange, league.

The home and away season is almost over. Have you enjoyed your first season in the SFA?

It’s over for us Bears. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course there are certain teams where it is a chore, but to quote Raylan Givens:

“If you run into an arseh*le in the morning, you ran into an arseh*le. If you run into assholes all day, you're the arseh*le.”

A couple of teams meet the first criteria.

Only 2 rookies got above 100 Adjusted Dreamteam points and the rest of the un-nominated bunch barely tried, so I guess everyone just decided to close shop for the end of season celebrations. Anyway, the final round of nominees are...

Tiger2709 - 91 DT (141.05 ADT)

Tiger now has the longest gap between spots on the nominee list after being there all the way back in round 1. In a very important final round for the Furies, Tiger did everything he could to stop Roys from scoring. He was one of the main players to help Furies win and claim a top 4 position on the ladder.

• Neither getting, near the ball much, Tiger2709 was way too good for royboy2. - 0m from 1 to 1.
• In an epic battle, Tiger2709 and TedDougChris were hard to separate - though Tiger2709 was slightly more effective. - 85m from 11 to 96.

Dancing Potato - 53 DT (127.2 ADT)

This is Potato's third time on the nominee list. Starting on the bench isn't typically a spot where qooty players shine, but Potato isn't like other qooty players. One of the toughest positions to start and yet Potato is able to break into the game and score better than half of the Royals team.

• In quite a display, Tarkyn_24 was easily the winner in the clash with Dancing Potato. - 90m from 8 to 98.

Baghdad Bombers - Ruck

With the home and away season done and dusted, I needed to have a rest this off-season. So I decided to travel to Fiji and have a relaxing vacation.

Once I arrived I found out that the Bombers were staying there as they also didn't make finals. As it is off-season there is no need for any fighting so we all just decided to enjoy our time at the resort.

I never thought I'd say this but the Bombers actually know how to chill out and relax better than anyone. We even got close enough to be on a first name basis, which is nice. After a long day of walking on the beach and figuring out where the hell this rook is, I had to go for a dip in the ocean.

Unfortunately I forgot to pack my budgy smugglers, so I had to go in the water wearing business attire.

As my $6000 suit was steadily soaking in all of the ocean, I had a chat with BLUEALLTHRU and then found the Bombers rookie CursingFijian

Hello Bombers captain BLUEALLTHRU. CursingFijian has been a great addition to your team this season, particularly on the qooty field. How did his move into the ruck come about?

Morning Den. Metalcrusher , the LG and myself moved our players around this season trying to get a fair run from the sim, unfortunately that was not possible. We decided during the season that our Fiji brother deserved a prime spot as he has been a shining light in a disappointing season at Baghdad.

What are your expectations of CursingFijian for the future? Any more awards you think might be coming their way?

Internally CursingFijian is rated extremely highly for his humour, wit , shoops and passion for all things Baghdad.
As far as expectations go he has far exceeded what we hoped for. He's already got a very good handle on how the SFA works and as long as he keeps enjoying himself then I see no reason why he can't captain Baghdad one day. I personally believe he has been this rookie seasons crops best poster so I'd like him to win the EKA but it's not up to me.

Season 32 is at an end. How would you rate this seasons rookie class?

In my opinion I think this years rookie class has been fantastic. All have jumped in and had fun while offering enthusiasm which is what the League needs.

Any other rookies you wish that you'd gotten over to Baghdad?

The only one I believe would fit in well at Baghdad is Brenton Davy so I'll be opening up a PM with him shortly

Hello DockerDen5215 . It feels great, to be very honest. I feel like I should crack a joke about saving the best for last, but not sure how to unroll that one. Let's just move on shall we?

Sure. How did you find out about the SFA? And what led you to join Baghdad Bombers?

I have been aware of the SFA for some time now, and even played in a couple of exhibition matches. But I never really understood how interesting it is, as a community, and what a weird and wonderful bunch of posters are in it. Kilroy brought me over, and despite a couple of late offers from other teams, I think my sense of loyalty was always going to have me playing alongside him.

The home and away season is finished now. Have you enjoyed your first season in the SFA?

I have thoroughly enjoyed it, and I owe many people a round of thanks for that. To Kilroy obviously for escorting me through the front door and into the club. To the LG at the Bombers who have always encouraged me to be myself and who have treated me as an equal from day one. But also to BLUEALLTHRU for pushing me into a premium position that allows me to be more productive on the qooty field, and thus helps to raise my eligibility for awards like these. And to the many qooty players out there who have both held my hand and slapped me across the chops in equal portions when required.

How do you prepare for a qooty match?

I'm pretty focused on getting into match threads as early as possible. That allows me to build up some momentum going in to game day. It normally means clearing out a bit of space on a Monday night and sitting quietly in the darkness waiting for match threads to drop. It's a wonderful life. Really.



Then on game day I just make sure I take off my unlucky underwear and I'm away.

So how many pairs of lucky underwear do you have?

None. They're all unlucky. Poor things.

Who do you think will win the Rookie Gun this season? Think you're a chance?

I think Dancing Potato is severly underrated as a qooty player. That spud just gets it done week in week out with minimum fuss, clearly one of the best going around. I think he would be a deserving winner after you sneak him in next week. Just be sure to remember when you hand him the award it would be rude to ask him if he wants fries with that.

As for myself, I have next to no chance of winning from this far back in the field, and I'm comfortable with that. There are lots more deserving qooty rookies out there. But wouldn't it be such sweet, sweet sorrow for the rest if I somehow stole it at the very end?
