And very importantly, we had a new coach, direction and reset.Definitely not a team of varying strength that Geelong outfit. Even if Ablett doesn't perform at his best there's plenty of players that can pick up the slack, and as we saw in 2011, they didn't even need him.
In your opinion do the "teams of varying strength" make Judd a better finals player than Ablett jnr?
Just because the group grew and evolved in 2011 doesn't mean Ablett was redundant to the previous success.
Without him we lose the 2009 grand final, the 2007 prelim and the 2008 grand final becomes a 10 plus goal thrashing. There is no dynasty without his emergence as a superstar in 2007.
If he'd stayed then 2013 almost certainly would've been a 4th premiership in 7 years.
