Jones at least competes against opposition and runs and kicks forward.

Reckon it'll be Nank to wing and then back out of the side if he fails at that. Can't drop him out of the backline because he's more valuable than both Milera and Laird. Need to get him to another role where he can be dropped.

Something is drastically wrong if we are relying on our KPD to the the attacking one over Laird, Hinge and Milera.

Blow the whole back line up if that’s the case.

That's kinda what I'm getting at really.

I think Keane is a perfectly good 2nd KPD, he's still very inexperienced really so the brainfades should lessen over time.

It's the attitude problem that needs solving moreso

Walker looked slow and tired last night. Probably would have been the ideal game to rest him if Fog was playing. Also I think we need to swap to TT rucking in the forward 50, Tex has lost his ability to win those throw ins like he used to. Got caught quite a few times when taking it out the ruck.

He got caught because he's become greedy. He isn't giving the first option like he used to.

I still think he has a goals trigger in his contract.

He got caught because Freo were totally onto the idea of him grabbing the ball out of the ruck to kick a goal. He had 2 or 3 players sweating on him each time he went to ruck in the forward line.

I think Jones is a better defender than Laird.
My main concern with Laird has always been a defender now a days needs to be either a close checking one on one defender or someone with elite skills to intercept and set up the attacking play like a Houston. Laird is neither of those. The game has changed since he last played.down back.

The days of playing someone in defence because they can't play midfield are over.

At this point we simply must do everything possible to remove the senior players that have failed us over and over.
Laird, Crouch and Obrien must go.

Tex gets a reprieve because he's been a champion. And is contributing.
The above three just aren't up to it.

So yes, even Chayce Jones would be a better choice.

Most of today's AFL games are determined in the midfield, and with ball users. If your midfield gets well beaten, I find it dumb to be overly critical of the tall forwards and key defenders.

Ruck chopout is a good point. The only active players on our list with a hitout in an AFL game not isolated to the forward line are ROB, Thilthorpe, Burgess, Murray and Borlase. So they will need to bring in Burgess if Thilthorpe is an out, I assume. Unless Curtin or someone could chop out for ROB.

Burgess can't AFL.

Would use Curtin as backup if Thilthorpe is out.
