How good a year is Hingey having so far.
Sholl is just physically not up to it. It's not a lack of intent, but he's just to easily moved off the ball. He's next in line to drop out for me, after Jnr (who must make way for Nank).

We had seats 15 rows back, middle of E stand. Very little breeze that side.
The sun on my legs had some real bite for 22C --- glad I didn't wear shorts and left via the Laundry to get my wide-brimmed fishing hat. Woulda been hot/worse for the players.
I missed a lot of the action because both teams favoured the W side of the ground which was hard to see when shaded over (yeah, I shoulda watched the screens more).

Another poster suggested that Clarko shut down Crouch and Dawson, but we have much more mid strength than just those two now. Soligo, Rankine, Peatling all stood up today. Hinge and Keays very good, Laird prolific.
Sholl was Sholl --- disappears when the pressure is on.
Milera ineffective.

My mate and I were sitting behind the shot and were stunned when it was signalled a goal then two-flagged.
It hit the R-inside of the L post and deviated at least half a metre.

He was brilliant against North.
Felt he was underwhelming without being bad the first two games.
Round 3: 7 Marks, 6 score involvements, 8 intercepts, 512 Metres gained, 8 Rebound 50's.
Rounds 1&2 combined: 7 Marks, 8 score involvements, 9 intercepts, 463 metres gained, 5 rebound 50's.

We have a real even spread of contributors.
If you told North that they would keep Dawson to a very quiet game whilst keeping Rankine, Rachele and FOG to 2 goals between them they would have taken it. This happened and we still won by 6 goals.

2023 Rnds 3 to 6 we won 4 in a row
2022 Rnds 20 to 22 we won 3 in a row
2020 Rnds 15 to 17 won 3 in a row (our only 3 wins of the season in the last 4 rounds)

Good win, you’d take a 6 goal win we were in control of all day. North have definitely improved and we weren’t at our best.
Still shaking my head at our use of Draper. Just because he replaced Rachelle, Nicks was incapable to think on his feet and give him some midfield time, especially when Dawson and Crouch were both quiet.
Drapers previous 2 games were better with less game time because he played his position, midfield.

Did Dawson spend all his time on the ball? Good opportunity to send him forward

He played up forward in the first qtr.
But he had the second most centre bounce attendances behind ROB
Was of the thought if he was struggling to get into the game maybe put him forward and rotate with Draper

Would seem logical but Draper only got 1 CBA.
I thought Dawson started on fire but looked and he only had 4 disposals in the first qtr.
It would give me a bit more confidence that Nicks is thinking on the run
Thats fair too of course.
Kid played a good game in a spot that isn't foreign to him.
Good or ugly? Nicks has been coach for 6 years by the end of 2025. He could be our first 10 year coach.

I've still got my doubts that he can do that, big doubts TBH, but weve got a lot of good pieces around him to help.
Reckon they were worried re speed up forward and needing enough pressure when ball hits the deck
When you have 3 tall forwards and lose a nippy ish small I guess that’s the price you pay for having those forwards
