In December 2011, Samoa changed their timezone and moved westwards across the international date line to align with trade partners. When December 29 ended, they jumped straight to December 31 meaning that December 30, 2011 was never observed there.

I said salad cream, stupid.
The title scenes from Fawlty Towers were filmed at a golf club in Bourne End just near where I lived and not in Torquay. Unfortunately it burned down in the 90s.

The Brits have it right when it comes to sit-coms. Often a small number of episodes, but it's still just enough that it doesn't grow stale and leaves every episode memorable. Fawlty Towers only had 12 episodes, The Mighty Boosh 20, The Office 14, The Inbetweeners 18, The IT Crowd 25... you get my point.

The issue with a lot of American comedies, even great ones, is that they tend to for 1-2 seasons too many (20 seasons if you're talking about The Simpsons). For example, I enjoyed Scrubs but that was a couple of seasons too long, 30 Rock and Community grew stale after a while and even Seinfeld could've ended sooner (Larry David leaving was the impact). Curb and Always Sunny the exceptions to that rule.

I never watched Friends so I can't make a judgement.

I have. Friends should have ended Season 7

Imagine having that as your birthday.

I have always been of the beleif shows should be ended after a max of 4 seasons. Imagine some of you’re favourite shows ending after 4 seasons and what the story would have been.

Other examples of British TV. Mr Bean 15 episodes. Some Mothers Do Have ‘Em 23 episodes. Skins had 60 odd episodes, but completely changed the cast every two seasons

Original meaning of a deck of playing cards:
52 cards for 52 weeks in the year.
2 colors for day and night
4 suits for the 4 seasons and 13 weeks per season.
Twelve court cards representing the 12 months.

If we add each of the cards (ace + ace + ace + ace + two + two + three + seven + eight ... and etc) of the game we will get 364.
The card game is an agricultural calendar that told us about the weeks and the seasons.

With each new season, it was King's week, followed by Queen's week, Jack's and so on until As week changed seasons and we started over with a new color.
Jokers were used in leap years.

And a Bible

"Deck of Cards" Prayer Book

  • Your Honor, to me this deck of cards is my prayer book and Bible. When I look into these cards and see an Ace, it reminds me that there is only one God.

  • When I see the Deuce, it reminds me that the Bible is divided into two parts, the Old and the New Testaments.

  • When I see the Trey, it represents the three persons of the Blessed Trinity - the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.

  • When I see the Four, it reminds me of the four great Evangelists, who wrote the Gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

  • When I see the Five, Your Honor, I think of the five virgins who kept their lamps trimmed in waiting for the coming of the Lord.

  • When I see the Six, it reminds me that in six days God made this great Heaven and Earth.

  • When I see the Seven, it represents the Sabbath, a day of rest and worship.

  • When I see the Eight, it reminds me of the eight righteous persons who were saved from the Flood—Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives

  • When I see the Nine, I'm reminded of the nine lepers who were cleansed of their sins, but did not give thanks, such was their ingratitude.

  • When I see the Ten, I think, not only of the tenth leper, who did give thanks, but of the Ten Commandments handed down by Moses on the stone tablets, each spot for one Commandment.

  • Now, Your Honor, the Jack reminds me of the Knave of the Devil and to shun his temptation.

  • When I see the Queen, I think of the blessed Virgin Mary, who is Queen of Heaven.

  • The King is, of course, the King of Heaven and Earth and All Things, to whom we should all bow down and give thanks."

American astronaut Buzz Aldrin - still living at age 93 - along with the late Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins was part of the first crew to visit the Moon in Apollo 11 in July 1969.

Amazingly, Aldrin's mother Marion's maiden name was Moon, but sadly she didn't live long enough to see her son's greatest triumph as she died in 1968, a year before the Moon Landing.

We can all agree that the "shared custody" Hilux ad doing the rounds is pretty stupid and cringeworthy.

The backing music for the advert is a power ballad most notably performed by US band REO Speedwagon.

The REO Speedwagon was an actual vehicle, and here is a picture of a 1936 variant:

So, was the REO Speedwagon the pre-war equivalent of the Hilux and that was why the song was chosen? You decide.
