I must admit I do have a soft spot for Kern. His work v Hawks post game last year was exceptional.
So do most of us here ... Only a different kind!

Rozee is much more damaging and influential running off the half back than in the middle and around congested packs.
Pinch hit him there to try something different if the others are getting soundly beaten and the games in jeopardy of slipping away.
It’s very clear he’s an outside runner and does have great skill to use it well being a headache for the opposition.

Still cant trust him. There is a soft performance in the brewing. Maybe coming off half back is hiding this a bit. He was brutalised against the genuine mids.

I do expect Rozee to pinch hit in the middle to give it a different look every now and then. Let's not forget that he did become a 2 x AA playing as a mid. Even though his performances was frustrating at times last year and a bit this year with his efforts, there is still so much upside with his game and overall development.

Hoyney from CD said yesterday in his segment.

Champion Data have identified the players who have improved and who have fallen away so far in season 2025.
After a sample size of six rounds, the biggest risers and fallers from a player ratings point of view have become clearer, according to lead analyst Daniel Hoyne.

He went through the top 10 risers and top 10 fallers on SEN’s Sportsday.

7 - Connor Rozee (Port Adelaide)
“We want to give this guy a bit of recognition. I put him on the agenda last year and earlier this year about how impactful he has been.
“So far this year he has risen 148 places. Right now he’s having his best year that we have seen on our ratings system. Hats off to Ken and Rozee for what he has been able to do.”

Yes. Hats off to Ken. Even with his superpowers stripped he's a mastermind coach.

Yeah Rozees head coach last year really did him a disservice. Thankfully Ken has stepped up and pulled rank over last years coach this year.

It’s so absolutely forced too, is there any way not to think it’s a deliberate troll?

Despite Connor coming out and confiming it was Josh in the post match interview, it's still attributed to "Kenny". If they can't attribute these types of things to Daddy, they may start to ask what he actually does ..........:smirk:

I've mentioned before that he reminds me a lot of Wanganeen. The versatility to play forward, back and mid. But looks most natural in defence.

Choco used to move Wanganeen around more than any other player, and he did a great job wherever he went. All 5 of his AA's he was named in the back pocket, but he was very damaging as a forward and was thrown in the middle every now and then too when we needed a spark. The 2001 AA he kicked 41 goals and 2003 he played a lot in the midfield and that was he best year.

Rozee has already had good seasons as a forward and mid and at this rate he is going to put a good season together in defence.

The jury is still out for me on whether Rozee is the right person to be captain but I've never doubted his football ability.

Im down, Cox stinks.
He looked awkward and lost when the camera was on him last week. Al least we put the headset on Ken. It’s not plugged in or anything but it makes him look important.

Rozee has been solid this season aside from one sub poor game its sad that people are clutching at the opportunity to stick the boot in the moment he has a bad game. There was every chance we ended up with Max King who cant hit a contest when he's playing.

I had to double check the bit about Wanganeen being named AA back pocket after kicking 41 goals and it's true. And to think the AA selectors cop stick these days for picking midfielders on the wing! Wild stuff.

Rozee has some Wanganeen like attributes but he lacks the toughness and courage that Wanganeen had in spades.

Yeah 41 goals suggests he spent a lot of that season up forward, i don't think he was kicking those goals running from the back pocket anyway.

from memory i think that 01-04 period he played mainly forward and mid and bugger all in defence, but they obviously had him pigeon holed as a back pocket.

Daicos does too. Why is he thriving? Because his team mates are contributing. I dont think Rozee needs to be that tough player so long as we have good balance. By the same token Farrell is far from a hard player.

We need guys on the inside like JHF and Wines doing their bit.

Gav spent the first 13-14 games of 2001 playing mostly as that small full forward Choco used to love. He then moved back for the rest of the season after that.

Didn’t they pick Pavlich at FB one year?
