Next captain has to come from Wines, Houston, Burton or Rozee. SPP is a 'spiritual' leader but I'm not sure he is the kind of person that would want to deal with all the off-field stuff that comes with it, and public speaking is honestly just not one of his strengths. There's no shame in that, he's just not 100% suited to the role. Leadership group at the club, sure. Not the top job though.
SPP public speaking can’t be as bad as the shit that comes out of Jonas’ mouth.

Jonas indeed talks shit, but he speaks his fluff confidently, tows the company line, says the boring stuff and talks in clichés. I'm not sure SPP is equipped for that and while internally he might be a great captain, I have a feeling that for image purposes in the media, he might not be in the running. He's doing his job on the field anyway, that's all that matters.

Rozee next captain for me. I feel like he would be ready and willing. Mentored by Boak and also wants the job
He definitely wants it.

I don't think they have the courage not to give it to him regardless of whether he is the right man.

If you'd asked me two months ago I would have said Ollie but some of the absolute shit he has dribbled this year makes me barely want him at the club at all, let alone as the club's captain.

Give it to ****ing JHF, why not. The only player on our team who seems to actually care about losing.

i agree with where you're going, but if ted can be captain, i'm pretty sure SPP can. at least we can be reliably assured he's not gonna be chucking racist epithets around

Just don’t ask JHF his thought on Ken though.

This moment in the game, Powell-Pepper with a player next to him and a player coming towards him, just goes in hard and the ball stays in the 50.

Crowd celebrated that effort like it was a goal.

The final evolution for SPP is to become a clearance impact player. I think he's found his role now and will probably never be a full time mid. But I'd love to see him go in the there late in a game when we need a clearance and just will a game our way.

plays with a real intent, body on the line at every contest. Massive play that was, like the jonas tackle, team and crowd lifting moments. standing ovation moments

ball in hand hes still a worry, but if every player played with his spirit and toughness we would be winning most games we play.
