Probably the most vanilla player we have on our list atm.
What is Jed McIntee? Jackson Mead? Travis Boak? Lachie Charleson? Ryan Burton?

Keep the Hyperboles rolling in…

Lachie tends to be a mixed bag. He can have some really good games but he blemishes his work with those fundamental ball handling errors that many of us have identified. It is as if he takes his eyes off the footy because is focused on disposal before he has made sure he has the ball.

Lachie's progress hasn't been helped by injury just when he hits a patch of good form. He has a habit of playing a good game then getting injured. A player with potential but also a player who has not quite lived up to the pre draft hype.

He can be Jasper Pittard level of bad. Needs to work on that in the next year or two to be an decent AFL player.

We all have our whipping boys and he's mine.
Hopefully I will be proven wrong in 2025, yeh!
Oh he gets whipped by everyone here. Just saying to whip him for the right reasons. He is actually quite an exciting player in full flight. The problem is the "Jaspar Pittards" that he makes which undoes the good. As Macca mentioned, 2024 saw a definite improvement.

I like that he has taken on the commitment to improve, by heading overseas. I think you will want to revisit and delete this post in 2025.

He's softer than the froth on an Vanilla Smoothie.

Like I mentioned, shape up or prepare to be delisted.

Every one is entitled to their opinion, but…

Calling Jones soft is plain wrong. Either you are a Cow’s supporter having a bit of fun or Kane Cornes in disguise. Either way, a keyboard warrior who wouldn’t have the guts to say that to Lachie’s face.

Jones is a good, tough AFL standard player at the moment with more potential to elevate his game further: young, big body, super fast for his size, booming kick and hits hard. Not everyone is a superstar from day one and it has been recognised industry wide for the last 50 years that players start showing their real abilities between 50 and 100 games. If you don’t know this, you don’t know football.

What this means, in a nutshell, is that in those first 50-100 games you will see errors and inconsistencies- Boak, for example, often tried to do too much and got caught with the ball. He only really ironed that out around game 150.

Jones is a first round draft pick, tracking pretty much as expected and still possesses “A class” potential. I hope he will end up an elite half back who can play as the big bodied midfielder when needed. Whilst we will need to be patient if we want to see him perform that role in the midfield, we will see his true potential off half back in the next few seasons.

Bottom line: for most players you don’t learn without making mistakes. So, only a football illiterate (usually Crows supporters) would write off Jones for some errors, at this stage of his career. Only someone in no danger of sharing a football field with him would call him soft.

wtf

I don't like Jones either but 'vanilla' and 'soft' are the last things he is. This is like someone shitting on Mason Cox for being too short.
